Defending Valonbray

Anyone notice that defending Valonbray from sieges is painfully slow? It takes hours just to defend it against the enemy.
they trickle in one by one pass the outer wall, and even sometimes getting stuck at the outer ladder.

So, my question , is there a way to fully take out the outer wall from the game or speeding up the process of them getting to the inner wall? Or at least a way to let the game run while it is minimized?

Go get a long polearm, bow or crossbow and two packs of large bags of arrows or bolts and claim the outer wall yourself, man the ramparts with archers and go for the throat! Order your infantry/archers to follow you on the outer wall. Though I never ever had problems with defending Valonbray. It used to be the same turkey shooting defending as it was attacking it - just with less casualities in my army.

Alternatively, there´s always the option to install the siege ladders project as PoP uses native scenes. This will add more ladders to tower and ladder sieges making sieging both more difficult and easier to perform and defend as more attackers will be able to rush up towards your defenders.

Otherwise just place a ton of defenders in Valonbray and go after another Fierdsvain holding which you´ll man with less soldiers. The AI usually picks the last lost location to reclaim and afterwards the weaker defended ones.

Just play it smart. Additonally, you can always lure away possibly siegers until they run off or chase something else or start the siege and run back to the town/location. If you´re fast and far enough off, you can take out a good deal of the enemy war party on their way back joining the fracas.

Its not actually hard to defend, it just takes a really really long time. I could leave my pc running for an hour defending the city, and my troops would probably only kill like 300++ troops, when there's a thousand plus, thats really a problem

As I said - Siege Pack adds more ladders though the thing with Valonbray is the outer wall entry point area. All the troopers quarrel around to get up the ladder and usually screw it up.

Just exploit the stupid pathfinding AI there - with the archer fire cover from the second wall you should have enough support for successful tactical retreats if two or three excellent hostile troopers make it on the first ramparts - the others shall fall to your Pendor Great Sword, Glaive,  Halberd or crossbow bolts.

Most likely some fellow ranged trooper is blocking up the top of the first ladder buisly reloading his crossbow or shooting arrows and thus stopping the flood of your enemy. If you pick that one off, the others will climb up faster to their grave.
