I think in the games current state, it is way too easy for lords to decide '**** it' and defect. They'll take their fiefs, their entire army, everything, and leave. It's very annoying when you're trying to mount a defense and you have 4 clans, two with major cities, and two with castles, defect within a year of a war. It's very hard to defend against the bigger power. (EDIT: Make that 5. Varnovapol just defected.) What's the point of being a vassal if every clan will defect? They don't even need to siege us!
It also appears that saving nobles from battles where they're losing, or rescuing them from captivity, gives no relations boost.
I feel like one solution would be to allow armies below 40% to be called in, as well as the liege. Because right now I can't call any armies to defend or re take land because they're all so weak. And make defection harder/with a timer.
