Why we still cant take part of a battle if we re not either friend or foe of one of the fighting sides?
For example, i am an opportunist Sturgian viking, and i suddenly see a battle between some Vlandians with some Khuzaits...
I want to join battle to whatever side i choose, and then gain enemys and friends according to that.

Same theme apply for villages being reaided or whatever.

Give us TRUE FREEDOM!

Oh and please.. Fix the cheats!

If u want to declare war to vlandia just to take 100denar worth of loot, then im speechless
I think he's asking to be able to participate in battles without declaring war and just taking a relation hit with that particular clan instead. I think this makes more sense in non-army battles, but wouldn't work in battles against armies.

I highly doubt it logical for us to be able to attack lords and not get hunted down as the result. After all thats why kingdoms are formed. If you attack one of us, we will all attack back

Oh in the current state it doesn't make sense, they would need to develop interpersonal fueds/miniwars system that lives outside the wars system. I don't think its worth it when we already have a mercenary system for essentially this reason (non committal fighting against/for kingdoms, can quit being a mercenary at any time)

From the way I read it, it sounds like he's saying when you approach two neutral sides, you can choose who to attack, thus declaring war while also gaining relation with the other side.

I believe (though could be mistaken) that this was possible in Warband, that you could Intervene between a conflict as a Neutral Party, and you would get a big reputation hit with the Lord in question, and a smaller hit with the entire lords Family.

I think in VC it got changed to you get a penalty to the entire faction, but you would still stay neutral. If your reputation was bad enough, lords would hunt you down even though you were not at war with the faction and try to fight you.

I think you should be able to intervene, as right now you have zero option, but war would be declared upon yourself by the faction you attack. It would be nice to join Castle Sieges / Defenses, if you know you can tip the scales, and you are going to be joining a faction anyway. "An unknown hero arrived my lord, and saved us at the seige of Dnin!"

Would be a good roleplay element.

I think the clan system is detrimental to true individual roleplaying situations. When every village/castle/settlement/etc. plus relationships and renown end up being tied to a single clan, it takes away from the individualism that Warband brought. With the current system, if you become friends with one person, you're friends with the entire clan, regardless of personalities or traits. Not being able to give individual companions or clan members their own castle is a drawback, as well.

We NEED this, like really need this. It was amazing in Warband, like your enemy is winning against a friendly kingdom you join the battle and save them, like Gandalf

Is not that. I said Vlandia but if the battle is between idk... A minor faction and bandits, or whatever, i just want the freedom of choose attacking who ever i want without the need of being declared as hostile for this faction. When i choose to help one side, then yes, i will became hostile of course, and maybe improve relations with the other side of the battle.

Or another example.. If i want to take a casttle or town, why i cant if I'm not in war with that faction? I want absolute freedom to do whatever i want, of course, with all the reactions of my actions
