Dear TW, I heard you're planning to **** up this great game.

Sure and of course again we didn't play the same game huh?

Go try this in BL looks ****ing ridiculous. q.e.d

The difference between the two videos is: In warband, the feints look weird, but they are easily blockable. In bannerlord, you CAN'T see the feint and the attack is unblockable. What's ridiculous now?

Btw that warband video is exaggerating feints on purpose. In no circumstances you can feint for that long if your opponent is at least average. A simple hit would just stop him. They are just showcasing the movements, but in no way those 15 secs feints are used in duel. On the other hand, the Bannerlord feint you saw has many uses and is broken on most weapon (voulge being the worst because you don't see the animation).

He's just turning in swing direction. Far from unblockable. Also that's probably early closed beta gameplay. I haven't seen that happen since bannerlord launch if I remember correctly. If there's anything that would appear like an unblockable feint that would probably just be lag. You do need quite excellent bandwidth with authoritative server gameplay, even at bannerlord combat speed.

And that warband footage isn't easily blockable by a long shot. You need weeks to somewhat reliably figure out which is the actual swing. And if done by a good player all what you thought you were able to recognize was dust again.

That feint is unblockable given the block delay. and As you can see in the warband video you posted, the feints are easily blockable if you move.

There is no block delay to speak of, not if you're with a good ping. I don't notice any with ping 5, just as I don't in singleplayer.

"The feints are easily blockable" lol .... no idea what you're talking about. I just wanted to smash my screen remembering the torture that was Warband MP

I'm sure we can arrange for Squeaks (whos NA btw) or someone else to do this to you on EU servers, lets see if what you say is true.

Don't you think that's a little condescending? Sounds to me like demonizing because he usually doesn't agree with you. Might be meant differently though..

This is literally a video of Heat and Tito having fun, if either of them were remotely trying they could have just swung twice and hit them in the head and 1 banged them. On top of that as they displayed its extremely easy to block those when you're ready for them. The movement wasn't super realistic sure but the way combat in WB was it made it a whole lot more about skill and smarts instead of whatever BL has to offer right now. I'm sorry you don't like that but WB wouldn't be the only game where great players are going to know how to perform certain things and defend certain things that absolutely boggle lower skill players. If you didn't like it the answer was simple, don't duel or fight people that are better or try and learn from them.

I could hop on Bannerlord right now and recreate that exact spinning attack. I was doing it 2 weeks ago on TDM with a volgue.

If you are surprised that it takes time to learn how to block feints in a game which has a combat system completely dedicated to attacking, blocking, and the relationship between the two... idk what to say. The difference between Bannerlord fients and Warband fients is that Warband makes blocking fair, where as Bannerlord has stances and block delays which do not. The main issue many warband veterans have is the unpredictability of blocking. Its difficult to know when your block is up and when it isnt due to an arbitrary limit to your inputs which Warband does not have. The coming patches are adjusting the parameters to help get rid of those limits, and yet you have a problem with that for some reason.

I agree with op. The two times I tried warband mp (I have 700 hours in warband) I quit after 2 minutes after all the nonsense chananigans going on. It didnt feel like a medieval combat game, more like some kind of hyper hdd zone. Bannerlord sp is fine although the mp is fine as is too tbh.

That's just a bunch of manipulating misinformation man. It's surely not easily blockable when you don't know what's the actual swing.

Sure "makes blocking fair" that's just a meaningless talking point to me at this stage. If you cannot see that everyone who didn't marry this game would be confused until dead around 300 times than I don't think we can productively discuss this any further. We obviously think universes apart.

Thanks Storm7. Same here. Also around 600-700 hours in Warband, and same experience with MP.

Blocking in warband is way easier than in Bannerlord dude. The feints you showed from Heat and Tito can be blocked with up to 150 ping (200 if you are Gibby) but the BASIC feints in bannerlord are barely blockable with 80/90 ping, which is probably most people's ping given the location of servers and the quality of servers.

There are many active warband servers and a few tournaments still going on, 10 years after the release and even the release of the successor.

You just want a casual game that everyone plays for 10 hours and then drops it, 2 months forward, it's a dead game. I recommend you playing Fall Guys, it's fun

Then you just have bad internet connection. In Europe I don't see many with ping >50. Yes, you need 20 at max. That's because of authoritative server. It more or less completely prevents cheating. You will never see a speedhack in BL. Aimbot extremely difficult to do reliably. Read about authoritative server architecture here: https://www.gabrielgambetta.com/client-server-game-architecture.html

I have 2 ping on NA server and I still block better with my 100 ping on german servers in warband, because the speed of the game isn't broken.

Again there were many different ways either of them could have shut down those feints, if you think this is how either of them would actually try to duel it just shows how much more you needed to learn. It also is not misinformation, this is not even a prime example at how simple it is to just block them but it does show it wasn't very hard. Nearly any player that took the time to learn and practice the game can do it and defend it. I get it you feel like not everyone can figure it out but even in that case you can easily buy a shield and now it doesn't matter which direction its coming from.

Yea, looks fun. Too bad I'm a realism and history fanatic.

This thread is obvious bait, metafa knows that if he put this on the MP board, with people that actually play the multiplayer he wouldn't get this reaction :'(
