Don't you know that if your winning then your doing it wrong? Every game must end with everybody getting the exact same score, that way no one's feelings get hurt. It's the only fair way.

In Soviet Warband, equal score has you!

Hell, I'm a good cav player, I only get "OMG NOOB"ed when I play against YOU guys. But my HOBObrethren surely kid. Right?

It's pretty easy.

Firstly, ignore any rules and / or settings that may apply to the server. Some servers have silly things like "Melee FF" on, but don't let that stop you randomly swinging your weapon when you spawn!
When selecting equipment, always pick the most expensive you can't afford, and then complain about bugs when you end up in a gold-plated helmet and nothing else.
If you're defending in siege, remember to pick cavalry so you can charge out, as the enemy will not be expecting this in the slightest. If at all possible, make sure nobody closes the gate or door behind you and leave while nobody is looking.
If you're attacking, remember you only win siege by killing absolutely everyone on the other team.
If you haven't voted for the Nords in the last five seconds, remember to do it now
Your team archers probably need protecting. Remember the best way to do this is to stand directly in front of them so that the enemy can not see them whatsoever. To check if this is the case, try turning around to face the archer and placing your shield over them as much as possible.
Doorways and ladders are dangerous. Remember to advance over them as slowly as possible. You may need to stop in the doorway and shoot a couple of test arrows to make sure you can range in on the windows.

Yeah, i think its funny that all the noobs are telling US (this beta testers) how to play, when WE should be telling THEM how to play, but what do i know? i only beta tested since the early .600's so... (i am probably just an old fart to them)

And trying to flaunt your e-peen over a computer game is even more funny..
We are all nerds sitting in a room playing computer games. Who the hell cares who has more "experience".
People who whine about "cavalry noob omigod" etc should just be ignored.

Is this your first multi-player game?  They all have complainers, and 99% of the time the ones complaining are the people who suck.  I know, because I only complain in games that I suck.

Give it a month, maybe two, most of the noobs will either wise up and lrn2play or leave.

Heres what I like doing. Espcially in Team Games and all that. Its fun using your foe's weapons and horses against them...

Chose a class and stick with it till you die, swapping each death...

Start with the free **** but NO WEAPONS or Shields.

Charge into battle but stick behind others.

Collect the weapons and equipment of the dead. If you see a horse, mount it and fight with it. Cause you didn't buy it did you...

Remember that you can't upgrade your amour untill you reach 10000D or more.

this is the man right there! You got it so right, some ppl just don't think so. Funny is, when I die in a game coz some1 is "better" then I start laughing - it's a GAME, everybody! When you die, you can come back. So stop whining about deaths. The ppl who should whine are those that die in real life - and theres no comin' back from THAT death. And thats why I laugh about death in Games - coz you can always come back from the dead. But if some ppl cheat/exploit I'm still WTF!? and that wipes the smile off my face.

Marin's point is perfectly valid. He has had more experience in pushing the limits and testing the dynamics of the game when compared to someone who bought the game a week ago. A lot of brand new players come in after losing to a hands down more skilled player telling in a matter-of-fact way "this tactic is cheap, this weapon is imbalanced, this weapon is too fast, this class is cheap, so you should never use what I just listed"  (....so many coma splices.... I feel dirty! )

Its not about a superiority complex, its just a truth regarding those who have had the opportunity to play for a long time in the beta test, and those who only could get ahold of the game after it was released.

That isn't to say that people who just bought the game will never be better than the beta testers (in fact, I'm noticing that everyone is getting a lot more skilled by the day,) but for now, new players might try listening to those who have played more and improve, rather than trying to arrogantly state how imbalanced something this and tell other people how to play.

So once the game is out we are no longer entitled to point what we think is "broken"?
Well, you can certainly point out something that you think is broken. That, however, is different than complaining to someone and telling them to stop lolspinning or something of that nature.

If I attack too often, you call it "2h Spam"

If I use cavalry, you cry "Cavalry noob"

If I use an archer, you cry "****ing (xbowman/archer/horse archer)"

If i use a shield, you cry "Shield Noobs"

Please inform me, in detail, exactly how is one supposed to enjoy their warband experience? The most complete and detailed answer will receive a cookie.

Bonus points: what exactly is 2h spam, and why do you say it is overpowered?

If you see a guy with a scraggly beard and ponytail, usually trying to hit you with a throwing axe, then just die quickly and ill have no need to rage, cheers.

Exactly which guy with a scraggly beard and a ponytail? It's hardly a specific description.

I think it's funny that the only one of those compaints I've seen is the 2H spam one. Oh and occasionally archer spam but that's not that common for me.

Teehee

But, seriously, I've given up on multi player, I just don't find it fun any more, all the tactics these days are CHARGE CHARGE CHARGE, if you say "i'll defend the flag, please can I have some spearmen to defend me", everyone just ignores you. Not using that as a single example, it's the same across the board. And SP has got so many bugs in atm it's almost unplayable  I might leave it untill the N00bZoRZ quieten down abit. Also, how do we know the official servers?

Edit: Actually, I take some of that back. I was playing a battle on the 22nd battle server just then, and it was really enjoyable. That's untill my ****ing CONNECTION ISSUES CAME BACK. Sorry. I just thought they'd be gone in the final release. I'll start a thread, maybe, if it happens on official servers. When I figure out which ones are the official ones.

So I made another video. It's at home uploading while I'm here at work. I imagine it'll get done in about 3 or 4 more hours uploading and then youtube 'processing' it and blocking me because the music I chose for it

But anyway, it is just a few TDM runs where I slowed down and/or commented on what new players were doing wrong. I hope anybody who has a problem about 2 hand spam can watch this video where I sort of point out the problems and mistakes you see all over the game right now that allow people to basically get killed by spaming them.

Honestly most new players you just have to spam them and they can't handle it quite yet. Maybe watching this video can be a contrast to some of the duel videos I have so you can see sort of the opposite ends of the spectrum.

Anyway I'll make a new thread with a link once the video is done uploading and all that. I think you guys will like it

only a real man lets the other team get 10 kills before starting to fight!
(and then only using the starting weapon of a footman, e.g. a sword or axe, perhaps a spear, cheapest armor. you are ofcourse allowed to keep multiple swords, but gloves & helmets are ofcourse not allowed).
good luck!

The only right thing to do is kill as many newbies you can. Not only is it great fun. It is the only way for them to climb the learning ladder.
Now this may sound arrogant, but I guess this aspect of the game is closer to reality than it may seem. Most battlefields consist of a small number of veterans and a great number of recruits who did not have a baptism of fire. The recruit dies, the veteran lives to fight another day. That is how it always goes.
