No, infant mortality and disease were forms of population control. So is the modern Western lifestyle. A Christian marriage is not - think of the "A vagina is not a clown car" demotivation pic.

If you walk around you would notice that most people don't actually have 17 children. Very large families could be considered outliers.

And what has that got to do with what I was talking about? I was simply making a point that Christian marriage is not a method of population control. Families used to be far larger than they are now, and this is most likely because of the effect of modern lifestyle.
