I read the DaVinci code, terrific book very interesting spin on religion. Even if you ignore that as a whole, still a very well writen book with a great plot.

I was going to but I didn't read DaVinci's Code, only because the people who never read books bought it, just to put it into their shelves (because the book has become so popular).

I do agree about that too. The number of people who see everything they read as ''the book of truth'', specially this one drives me crazy. There are scarcely any objective or non-fantastic books on history. History has become just a part of fantasy genre now. People are more interested in fantastic views of history rather than facts, and writers do their best to meet these standarts. Even Lord of the Rings give better facts about world history than some books.

i've read da vinci code, angels and demons, deception point, and digital fortress. I liked all of them a lot, although everything in deception point seems too convenient (ie. the heros always know some completely obscure bit of knowledge that gets them out a tight spot). My favorite was Angels and Demons. very suspenseful

if you want a sneakpeak to what the world seemed to the people in the medieval times I strongly suggest Dantes ''Divine Comedy''. one of the greatest pieces of poetry I have ever read. As always poetry should be read in it's originall language to preserve it the way it was made, but since i can't speak italian i have read it in finnish and english.
Da Vinci code has a nice historic and mythic twist in it and anyone who enjoyd it should also read Divine Comedy.

I dunno if anyone knows, but they are making the Da Vinci Code, a movie. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0382625/fullcredits

I figured I'd comment on how I find the staff so far..

Anyways, people should realize that when they are reading FICTION novels that not everything in them is going to be true. I'm gonna dodge the whole bible thing but, on a similar note, scientology is an example of when you take fiction books seriously.

EDIT: fixed.

I could be willing to accept that Jesus had a wife and some children but why would any children of his have been treated like royalty anywhere? It just does't make sense. Nobles in Europe wouldn't just say "OOOh, give him property and a title because he says he is the son of Jesus. They would be treated like invaders or refugees.

I've just about finished "The Dying Earth" series from Jack Vance, its older than dirt but I like the creepy stuff.
