Now before I start no I DIDN'T do a search for this (Your now thinking: SwadianGrunt:My idea is- AHHHHGHGHGHG IT BURNS THE FIRE! IT BURNS, But please listen to my idea before you flame me.)

Now we all have seen the dagger in game it's really nothing more than a knife if you ask me, to my understanding daggers were more like short swords during the middle ages, and that thing in the game you call a dagger is just a really sharp butter knife.
I mean It's probably no longer that 30"s when in actual fact a dagger should be closer to say 50"s or 60"s.
Look I'm just saying you'd be better off getting one of the wooden sticks and calling yourself "I beat chyu wit ma stick". Now all I'm asking for is either

A. Larger Dagger either 20"s or even 30"s longer bordering on a short sword.

Or

B. Small version's of short swords called daggers and daggers renamed as Butter Knife Knife.

The in-game daggers is perfectly fine for a dagger and at 50 inch it'd be a rather long dagger.

Yeah, still, that's bloody long for a dagger. I've got a ruler of 30 cm and I'd consider that to be a bit lengthy for a dagger.

Modern Day 'Daggers' are ask big, even bigger although i'm not sure about medieval daggers entirely.

Daggers weren't combat weapons. Knights carried them with them to finish off opponents on the ground, as it was easier to get in the gaps of the armour with such a handy knife. The whole point of a dagger was that it was short and good for stabbing. I doubt it would be as long as you say. Still, if you have source material, fire away, and I'll shut up .

Now i have worked out that the in-game dagger's blade is roughly 14 inches if you compare that the average male human's hand is 7 inches and the blade is roughly twice as large as the palm of a soldier holding the dagger., but I think differently.

Now this picture shows your average Rhodok Spearman who is your average 6 foot. Now in This Website it states many things on the average body that are equal to each other and if you look through Mount & Blade you will find this true.
More to the point This renders the first estimate unaccurate and puts the dagger's estimate closer to 8 or 9 inches.

Daggers
Daggers were very common during medieval warfare. They were used, mainly, as an alternative in case the soldier's main weapon was unavailable, or in case he needed more flexibility.

In the case of archers, daggers were used as an alternative in case they were captured or surrounded. Additionally, during extreme need, archers could use their daggers to attack - which was very ineffective, but used nevertheless.

They were very sharp and small - the smaller the better. A very good dagger could even penetrate light armor and, if the enemy was not wearing armor, he could be easily killed with only one blow.

This made daggers to be used widely throughout the Dark Ages.

Daggers, later on, became another sign of chivalry (though not as famous as a sword) - they were generally passed from generation through generation since they would rarely deteriorate if made from a good material.

You will find your dagger quite useful when its so many players/NPCs around you that you don't even have enough space to hit them with normal length weapon.

I think a little longer daggers would be cool but they should be around 16" with the handle.
