Custom texture not working

I made a new item, both the brf and the dds files are in their places, but it just doesn't work. When I go in-game, the item is just completely white. The meshes seem to work completely fine.
 
Then most likely the problem is with letter case - OpenBrf is more liberal in this respect than Warband engine. Check actual texture filename, make sure texture in brf file is identical with correct casing for all characters, that the material refers to the texture correctly and mesh to material.
 
normally when I make a texture edit for materials in openbrf, I come across this, yeah its mainly due to  uppercase and lowercase, a material that links to a dds file with the name Newtex will not work if the dds file is name newtex.dds. Make sure both words have the same casing.


And don't forget to import your texture as well! click on import- new texture.
