Well, if I allowed personal banners back in, there would be a deluge of requests. And since only one person uses it (on account of it being, you know, "personal") it isn't very efficient. It worked back in the beta because there were so few people compared to now, and it was certainly more tightly knit.
As for multiple clan banners, yeah, I'm a bit iffy about that as well. But since more than one dude will use those (in most cases) I figured I might as well let it slide. Still, I'll complain about more than a few (2-3) banners on one clan's name. And since they'll have the primary banner to fall back on, I'll replace them once we have to resort to cannibalism to save space.
There's a bit of a story related to the "Romulus, Remus & She-wolf" banner, actually. Back in January serpent82 (previous incarnation of "LordAnthony") asked me to design a banner for his clan-in-the-making. He wanted something Roman-themed, and since there already were a few banners like that, I decided that something a bit more original than "eagle, leaf crown, S.P.Q.R." was in order. So I pondered on "what's Roman yet not overly clichéd?" for a while, and eventually came up with the
Capitoline Wolf. I figured that was pretty clever, so I went ahead with it.
I then presented the banner to serpent82, and he was a little confused (which didn't really shock me, considering his knowledge of Rome seemed to stop at knowing that the letters S.P.Q.R. were somehow related to it) so I explained it. He said that of course he knew about it (I'm a bit sceptical on that, though) but nevertheless wanted something else. I refused, and we didn't speak of it again. Up 'till now.
So he shows up out of the blue, asking if I still have the banner, trying to convince me that "LordAnthony" is his brother and wants to start a clan (which was, of course, the same name as with his last attempt) and thus, needs the banner. So I make some cynical and snide remarks, but agree to put it into the pack, since he seems to have gotten some sort of clan off the ground (after a fashion). The rest you know, probably.
So, if he indeed is just trying to wriggle himself a personal banner, I'll be quick to replace it with one more worthy. But, until I see some proof it'll stay there.
