For version 1.0.0

I published this mod on nexus, so check it out there for download:

videos are from a now very old version, but you should get the idea, it`s only getting better:

This mod is now only a banner pack, to have the new relation bar, settlement icons and name colors the way it is shown on the images, you must download the UI part only, made by Bloc here Settlement Icons - Redesign, and run it alongside CBU Pack.
Now you can use another banner pack with that mod if you wish so.

Got bored of the unicolored banners ?
Your eyes are fed up of the overly-saturated troop uniforms?
Using the banner editor extracted from the early Beta files and uploaded online, I have made this custom banner pack for all the major and minor faction clans, as well as varied cultiral shield design for all the major and some minor cultures.

The banners and uniform colors are implemented using the Poc Color mod as a base, and it`s very well explained and in depth by its creator purpulez!
Huge kudos to purpulez for making the code of his mode open to us, so we can enjoy our custom config files using his mod !

Changed Vlandia banner, felt that the one closer to Native was after all closer to the lore.

Some of the shield designs for empire factions are taken from the Polybian mod, a couple of the shields and banner designs are inspired by the great creations from Reddit, such as the lion head for Vlandia by 88wildy, and the masterfully done Byzantine eagle was given by MacrmaM1234, for the South Empire.

This mod is at the moment very well complemented by the Bear My Banner , BannerPeasants mod, or any other similar banner-carrying mods, until the banner carrying units are added to the vanilla game.

The newest 1.0.0 version of the pack includes proper design use on battle banners, adds custom banners for ALL rebel towns, having in mind their culture and starting clan owner and is made compatible with SEPARATISM Mod - CHAOS START (english only)!

Low tier troops, which are the bulk of every army, have clothes of natural colors with many random shades, whilst just minor details are having the color of the faction in several shades as well, to avoid over-saturation of the Native colors, PLUS making only high tier troops have primary color of the faction, but the toned down version of those colors and in several shades, and the result is very pleasing !

ALL ruling clans now have their own banners, that they will switch to in case of another clan taking their throne in the kingdom.

ALL the major factions have many culturaly inspired shield variations, while noble troops and high tier cavalry will bear clan banners on their shields, to represent the personal retinue of the commanding lords.

All the minor factions' uniforms are colorised appropriately and edited some of the shields (Skolderbrova viking shield designs for example) for better effect, and as they are far and few in between across the whole map, they shouldn't impact the oversaturation of the battlefield.

I also tried to connect some clans to the Warband lore, through their banners, where it was possible and logical (such as Banu Sarran of the to-be Sarranid Sultanate in Warband timeline, VAGIRoving as the ruling house of the future Vaegirs, having both of the cousins' King Yaroglek's and Prince Vladym the Bastard's symbols (i imagined them being the same clan before Yaroglek's father executed Vladym's mother, after which he split), Khergit of the to-be Khergit Khanate and dey Arromanc, holders of Jaculan, future Jelkala, the capital of the future Rhodok faction, splinter state of Vlandia, thus i also went in a more "Native-y" style of banners, rather than pure fancy.

Installation:
- Unzip the download CBU 1.0.0 folder , and inside the extracted folder should be a folder named "PocColor", put it in the Modules folder in the Bannerlord directory,

- Make sure to delete it if you already have the POC Color Mod, it can cause issues.
- Check the Poc Color Randomizer Mod at launch, and enjoy !

(before starting any new mod, i always recommend using the Module Unblocker mod, because some Windows iterations block . dlls)

Known issues:
- If the player uses a complex custom banner for himself, it might get monocolored in the next reload. Solution is either paste your banner in the banner editor after each load (using banner paste mod or other), or check out the Player Banner Shields optional file and follow the instructions there.

- Using Banner Color Persistence mod with this mod will create a bug in battles where all units will wear white uniforms.

- In some rare instances, banners of the clans can mess up while switching factions, if it happens to you mid-game, just save the game and move a second on the main map.

Planned features:
- Make it so that the player and all the lords have their clan banner on their shield, instead of the randomized custom shield designs of the faction they are vassal to.

- Continue adding to variety and immersion by further tweaking banners, uniforms and shields.

For some time now, we have been discussing the issue of "how to apply" faction color to clothing. We had a thread full of interesting discussions. The Great Poll about textile Colour

In my opinion, this modification is perfect in my eyes. The troops are perfectly distinguishable with a slight touch of color, the heraldry of the shields and for those who use it, the circles over the heads.
Heraldry in general is very accomplished and really brings more diversity to the game.

This mod is a clear example of how to decasualise the game.

I'm a bit torn on this one. Banners look amazing, and makes sense to each clan to have their own sigil, instead of copying the main leader one. But unlike warband, town names aren't faction coloured, and the only way to distinguish which faction owns them is the clan color next to it, making really hard to who owns what, especially when lords start changing factions.

It would be sad to remove the red/black/green background in town names depending on your relation with them, but it's the only place where I can find space to change something to make it easier (khuzaits would be tyal, vlandians red, etc.).

Amazing job regardless.

Funny you say this, because i am currently looking for a way to implement colorized fief names. I have the same opinion on this . . .
If i do find a way, OP will be updated.

Some symbols and premade patterns are bugged, for example that persian-style lion is actually a bird when you paste it to the in-game banner editor, so there are quite a few bugged stuff in there.

I suggest copy my dey Valant banner, multiselect the squares with which i made the checkerboard pattern and copy it and move arround how you wish.

the problem is factions dont have same color. its bad for map view
Imo same color banners inside a faction is a very lazy solution for a strategic map overview, and i think that is a borderline offensive underestimation of "average Joe's" IQ on the part of TaleWorlds.
Colored fief names would be much better, as was in Warband, but with that Bannerlord fancy flair.

Yes, turn off the circles above their heads, it makes the game and battles so much more fun. You go charging into the chaos and have to look at shields to try and figure out who's who and who's your target. Once you pick a target, you gotta stay focused on him. You really get to know your guys and your banner. So much better.
