This sounds like a non-issue but in late game all the clans' heirs are the incorrect culture, and it completely destabilizes everything in the next generation due to lords marrying outside their culture.

All the clans end up not matching their homeland's culture. It makes it impossible to match clans to lands in an attempt to create a stable kingdom. Even if just the sons retained their father's culture, and the daughters retained their mother's, it would fix the issue.

The entire culture of a clan should not change on the clan leader's death just because the spouse of the clan leader was different, and the heir now has a different culture.

A way to create a loyal and stable kingdom is to have the right clans with the matching lands and this small detail make it impossible long term and can easily be fixed.

It would make late game much more stable. please

I´m fine with female culture for kids. Its just just as bad as male culture for children. There are female clanleaders marrying a male into their clan. If he has another culture, that would give exactly the same concequenses.

But would like AI cross-culture marriages to be less likely. With the exception of Empire culture beeing slightly accepted everywhere.

Realistically, there should be a formula worked out that the game references when the child is born. It would look at both parents, so lets say a Khuzait mother of Clan Horseyboys and Aserai Father of Clan Sandcastle have a child. The game then looks at A. The comparative power of each faction as a whole, B. The power of the individual clan within that culture, C. The comparison of the total power of the two families' clans and D.. Do you hold any fiefs of that culture? So something like, for each parent it runs the formula as ( B x C / A) x D (I'm fairly sure this is written wrong. )
Naturally some real coefficients would be nice but here's how id' do that:

For A, the factions overall power rank, should be a standard 1-6 with the top faction having the lowest number. So the top ranked team would be 1, the worst one 6.

For B could be taken as (Total forces of entire faction+ all influence held by all members) / (Soldiers owned by clan + Influence held by clan.) Ex Khuzaits have 12,500 total soldiers and 18,000 infleunce, for a total of 30,500 power. Clan Horseyboys has 1075 soldiers and 3.2k influence for a total of 4,275 power index score. Power divided by Power index becomes 7.134 rating
Aserai has 10,750 soldiers and 16,500 influence for a total of 27,250. Clan Sandcastle has 1125 soldiers and 3.6k influence for a total power index score of 4725. Power divided by power index becomes 5.676

For C. Its rather direct. Each clan is the numerator and the opposite parents clan the denominator. Lets say the Aserai clan had a power rating of 5.45. For the Khuzaits this leaves their coefficient at 1.309 while the aserai's comes out to .764 (Made a mistake here and its too late to alter everything. It was a hypothetical when I was tired instead of actually working everything out. It changes nothing of the results and is only .31 off)

For D, this is meant as a wildcard and failsafe because of the extreme power to correct it has. It starts out as a 1.0 by default but for each castle holding you have you gain 0.15 and 0.2 for each town holding. So, lets say this group has 1 Khuzait castle and no towns while they have 1 Aserai castle but 3 towns. This leads to a 1.15 for the Khuzaits and a 1.75 for the Aserai.

So, using our formula you plug the numbers in.
Khuzaits: 7.134 power index (B) x 1.309 comparison power score(C) =9.34(rounded) divided by 2 (Rank 2, A) =4.67 multiplied by 1.15(D) = 5.37 total "culture aptitude" score
Aserai: 5.676 power index (B) x .764 comparison power score (C) = 4.34(rounded) divided by 4 (Rank 4, A) = 1.08 multiplied by 1.75(D) = 1.9 total "culture aptitude" score

So, 5.37 Khuzait score is greater than 1.9 Aserai score, the child grows up in the culture of Clan Horseyboys. Better luck next time, Clan Sandcastle.

TL DR- Establish a formula or establish heredity as patrilineal or matrilineal to end this debate.
