Crossbowmen vs Crossbowmen

Hello all. I am very sorry if that question has already been enlightened, but I could not find one.

The problem is:
Two fighting groups have identical set: (for example) 5 horsemen and 5 crossbowmen.

At the beginning, horsemen rush into battle, fight other team's horsemen, then survivors rush to crossbowmen and certainly die. Then begins it: two teams of crossbowers just stand at their position and don't move! And it can continue forever.
I order my troops to 'follow me' or to 'charge' - they don't respond. They just stand at a good position to meet a meelee enemy. And the other group of shooters don't move either.
So i have to charge alone, without help of those damn idiots.

What can be done? Is there an up-coming fix - to give orders to shooters onlyfighters only?

Sorry for my weak english. But this really irritates.

Well, the AI needs alot of work. Once units have "locked" a target, they don't seem to obey orders. Usually its not a huge deal, because they'll be firing at each other and one side will eventually win. I would suggest going with a uniform army (all footmen, horsemen, or archers) until the bugs are worked out. Otherwise they split up and get isolated and cut down.

Your english is better than most native speakers.

The only thing for it is to keep hammering 'charge' till your missilemen run off and get the job done or go and draw the enemy crossbowmen out by being a target.

But there was a hill between our groups, so they have had no sight of an enemy.

Thanks

There was nothing i could do with those zombies - they probably locked a target, could not see it because of a hill, and stood doing nothing. When i yelled 'charge' they did one-two steps in different directions and then back to the place they stood before.

I had an only solution - to 'flee' from fight... It was simply unfair - my forces were equal, or even stronger then enemy's...

This did not stop me from buying the game though
