Cross hair options?

Is there anyway we can change the default cross hair to something we prefer better than this massive circle? Would it be legal to change it? Wouldn't want to get banned because the lack of options. There are plenty of games that give you option to change cross hairs. If anyone knows how to do this could they teach me?
