Criticizing an early access game released 1 day ago lol

I don't have a problem with there being bugs in an early access game and I also happen to enjoy playing Bannerlord, but what exactly were they doing during the 8 years of development? It feels like a Warband reskin with some additional features. A lot of the lines of text are exactly the same, there are only two or three unique town/village scenes per faction, etc.

My guess is their dev team has a a lot of turnover which is why they didn't make much progress on the game. Hopefully they can use some of the money they earned from early access to bring on additional devs to work on the game.

I think my problems with the game come down to my expectations. I wasn't expecting it feature complete or bug free but I have to admit I was expecting it to have a lot more to it than it does. What I mean is, after 8 years of development and with all the wonderful full conversion or hell even one off mods that have came out for Warband in that time to act as inspiration, I was really expecting most of the best aspects of those mods to be incorporated into Bannerlord 2. However, it just doesn't feel like much has been added.

For example, the enemy seems to always rush in just like in Native. No formations, no attempt at defense, nothing. I was really expecting to see some sort of formation AI. Also where are the enterprises? This is a core feature of Warband but there doesn't seem to be any way to make any sort of passive income in the game. I also liked the land/acreage feature that is in many mods to assist with passive income. What about Freelancer? This had to be the most popular mod in Warband or near to it yet I don't think it is even on the list to be added. I guess I just expected with 8 years of development behind it, there would be much more to the base game.

I mean I am still excited and having fun playing the game but on the other hand it is disappointing to feel like I am going to have to wait 1-2 years for the modders to actually make the game I expected Taleworlds to be making out of the gate.

I will say that I think a lot of people are being way to harsh on the basic mechanics. The combat system is a bit different from Warband but aside from the lack of auto-block it is easy to get the hang off and overall an improvement. Also it is pretty obvious that itemization needs a lot of work because the stats are way off on many weapons and pieces of equipment. For example a cheap Battered Shield that sells for like 500 has better stats than many shields listed for thousands of gold. I also found that cheap harpoons have better stats than most of the other throwing weapons, no matter the cost. Also bandit parties are unbelievable weak compared to the army I can amass and I have never once felt worried about traversing the map like I did in Native or any of the Mods. People need to forgive these sorts of things instead of letting it bother them.

seriously if anyone was expecting anything more than what it is right now you only have yourself to blame. 90% of the issues that it has was addressed in the Early access info given weeks before it was released. If you buy an early access game without looking into what to expect your disappointment is your fault not the developers.
this comes off a little ignorant people have bought a 40$ game and right now alot of people cant play the game because of bugs of course i know there are some people unfairly criticizing the game but most people are actually having genuine issues with the game crashing and what not i literally cant load into my game that ive spent 14 hours on

I can't refund it.

You made a purchase, with hopefully a fully functioning brain. They didn't force you to buy it and they aren't forcing you to give feedback. Steam has a very clear 2 hour refund policy, which you must've played past (again made a decision) and now can't refund it.

It's like someone telling you the floor is wet, if you need to cross it, be careful you might fall. You cross it, fall, and blame the person who told you to be careful. Like really? Take some responsibility, if you aren't happy with your purchase, either wait or maybe be productive and help with process. Barring that at the very least don't do the opposite.

They've released 2 patches in two days, they are working on it and hopefully will fix it. Everyone has a unique setup so it'll take some time. I do agree though, it really is unfortunate.

Being the obstacles, hardships, and flaws being broken and unbalance game mechanics for who some can't even launch the game without crashing. Yet still wanting players to pay nearly full price for it.

You're paying nearly full price, because you get to keep the game after it fully launches. So even if you just bought the game now and didn't play until full release, you'd save a ton of money (especially considering the 20% off right now).
