So, I guess they're not done yet. I'm hoping for either Rome 2, or some kind of Ancient game.
I hope they stay away from musketry, I don't think the games work as well.

I bought the newer Total Wars and I can honestly say Med 2 is still the best, although I do miss features from Shogun, such as the hide while moving, the buildings outside the towns, etc.

DWARF FORTRESS: TOTAL WAR

But it'll probably just be Medieval III or possibly a second Rome.

We already have two medieval Total Wars and Rome? Admittedly, maybe with a third take on Medieval they might actually manage to get a decent game out of it, but I won't hold my breath.

Rome would be a likely candidate. Though they could dip into fantasy to try and steal Neocore's thunder.

I've been hoping for a Rome 2. The recent Total War games weren't all that great, but hopefully seeing as how Rome 1 had a really great setting and lots of features I liked, they may be able to come out with something rather decent. If not, there'll be mods to make up for it, I guess.

Probably Rome 2. Although the "conspiracy theory" is that they "never do two sequels in a row". Not much else they can do though, besides an Ancient one or Dark Ages.
I dislike the direction the series is going.
DLCs, for a start, like that crappy Ikko-Ikki thing which is totally unlike the Expansion Packs like Kingdoms which were basically a whole new game(s) (In Kingdom's case the separate campaigns added alot of playing time). Plus they're not trying to make the game more modding friendly - another bad direction.

We already got 2 Medievals, if they're going to make a sequel, they'd better make Rome 2.

Then again, I always wondered if the next TW would span from late Roman Empire to early medieval. Kinda like Barbarian invasion.

Barring Shogun series, there's nothing in the eastern theatre, is there? There's China, India, both with plenty of TW material. And Sun Tzu
