Create a Mod Guide [WIP VERSION OUT]

Users who are viewing this thread

As a new modder, well started today, I would benefit from having as many tutorials as possible.  It is true Skyrim is just about 2 months from release, I would be ready hopefully by then to assist with making a mod.  I have no illusions about going it alone for some sort of release to the community, but I plink and plunk as well as any  Even did another post on script that I added a wrinkle to.  Just so you know once you have it up I'll be reading it.

Alrighty, here is the current version. Do note the it's incomplete still and mucho WIP. Thus, don't take it as a final result. Still, should get people the basic idea. Why am I releasing it right now and not writing it instead? Right now, I'm quite busy with school and few projects, thus, I'm not left much time writing this. I need time to think what I write on this and right now, I don't have it. When will I ? Well, I can say it wont take too long, but it's best I don't stress myself out with too much work right now.

Well, almost same for me. So, yes it is good.

But i am not so happy with Thread Name and not seeing my art in it.

You could always try to make a reference section with links to the "Beginner Tutorials" at the end. Other than that, the WIP is pretty nice

Did a read through last night.  Looks very good.  See that I got a couple of points in just what has been written.

Sorry to resurrect this, but seems that the links were still working so I downloaded one of the versions. Do you guys think it still worth continuing? I may well do so if there is enough support.

Almost everyday there is a new mod announced. Most of them die quite fast. There are many reasons why it does, but I really want to helpout that those who create a mod would actually succeed in it. Why on earth would the new mnb have a negative effect on the modding community? Since Warband came out, it has grown. I think it will just grow bigger when it comes out.

yes but when warband came out it practicly killed all modding for the original MB, what he is saying is that when bannerlord comes out its going to kill all modding for warband and mb. just like when hl2 came out people stopped making hl1 mods. only very few still continued to mod hl1.

although you should still make one for the people like me who still use the older games (i mod the original mb)

I'm currently dabbling with modding troops files and starting my own mod. I thought your guide would help me to jumpstart but guess I'll have to look for wisdom elsewhere.

Then I must have came at a bad time to start modding Warband again, ugh.
