Crash

Hi All

Just wondering if anyone else is having major problems entering towns (not castles). I have been of late - last two in game weeks - but it has been very pronounced in the last two days. I ride up to Curaw with ~ 150 men and it pauses at entry then dumps me out to the steam box I run it from - reports it had to close and I have to load again!

I had a problem with crash to desktop with my game the other day when an event that I don't know came up the game would CTD. On Steam you go in your library, choose M&B:W and if you right click the Title in the left column you can choose to delete all the files. Then proceed to download it again, takes 10 minutes and Voilà, fixed. No more crashes after that!

It has to do with the steam version attempting to connect to steam servers for achievements every time you enter a town. I am having such an issue right now, CTD crashing upon entering town. I'm wondering what the fix is, if there is anything at all I can do on my end.  Gonna try running the game with steam in offline mode.

EDIT: Starting steam in offline mode did not work but exiting steam, going into the steam directory and deleting "clientregistry.blob" and then restarting steam cleared the problem.

Sorry to hear your having such trouble Horrux - I don't think it's anything to do with Steam - my issue was resolved when I got the latest patch - I think?

At the time I had a lot of trouble with the game and one solution was to download and use the beta that was going at the time. Dunno if this helps.

If all else fails save your saves and reinstall - I guess.

As posted above, I solved it by deleting "clientregistry.blob" from the steam folder.

Quit steam, delete that file, start steam, it will update (redownload the contents of that file) and everything should work just peachy.
