In Progress Crash during load when "Attack" is chosen for field battles.

Summary: Several years into this play through, have had many fine battles, but now every time I initiate with enemy parties the game will crash during load screen.
Have been able to successfully simulate those battles with no crash. Can enter towns, bandit camps, compete in tournaments just fine. But as soon as I go back to try a non-simulated battle in the field I get the crash. I removed all mods and ran in safe mode as well and it persists.
I have tried doing it solo without my army or companions also. Same crash.

How to Reproduce: Select "Attack" when engaging enemy parties for field battles.
