Resolved Crash during Large Battles, but not Sieges

No, I didn't use any mods.

Same as title implies, which confuses me. I thought it was numbers, so I went from 1k to 800, then to 700, it just buys me time, but sieges work.. However, any open battle is a gamble. Most of the time they crash near the end...after the load on the game is lowest. No ragdolls or corpses.

The following repeats itslef from one of the files:

Had enough time to start 2 Vanilla campaign and recreate the crashes. For whatever reason it doesn't start right away.
Started 1 Campaign:
Went by 40 days, engaged in every open battle F6 the units. But then it crashes in open battles at some point. Happens once, then it goes a few days. Then again, and again until every open battle field crashes. It doesn't occur in sieges. But finally I got you your documents and data to mine. No mods, a vanilla campaign and save.
I uninstalled the game, deleted every folder associated with the game. As such it was as fresh of a start as possible.

These random crashes that some folk have been reporting in open battles. Saw the same issues in the mods forums for Harmony, for MCM, for other unrelated mods. I've been hunting this down for 2 dang weeks. Inevitably I finally had no choice but to go barebones and figure out if it isn't the mods but the core game. Sadly, recreated the crash in the core game.

In the end, just like the "cannot create save" error annoyed me months ago to leave bannerlord. This open battle field crashes have done the same. I really hope you'll investigate. Keep up the good work.

I can attest to this as well. I have ran into this issue since 1.2 up until now at 1.5.3 and it always happens during huge field battles (ie. 3000v3000 or more) with several parties/armies involved. The crash always happens near the end, I am not sure if it's during reinforcements respawn or when a side decides to retreat or if it's the horses from dead cav piling up. It is a massive gamebreaking bug as fighting for 30 mins then crashing and having to redo it only to crash again is really disheartening. This was the height of my campaign and I cannot even finish this massive battle and has caused my campaign to come to an abrupt halt. I know my current game is modded but I have been able to reproduce this on vanilla and other people have too. Definitely worth recreating these scenarios in a QA environment.

This sounds exactly like my crash report from 1.5.6 beta here:

I'm currently around day 250 of a 1.5.7 campaign and have not yet experienced this large battle crash. This crash doesn't seem to happen early in a campaign.

I started new campaign and now got castle, did defend it all ready battle size 388 vs 300 and no problems, now bigger enemy 600 is coming into it, i can sally out with my 400 guys and 2 times i have beat them and in end crash both times...

Hello, i have forwarded the issue to the QA team. Thank you for reporting it in and for your time.
 
Had this before last update - what helped was to tune max corpses on battlefield from unimited to Very high, and ragdolls to 10 (both values one step down before max), and no crash in large battles (saying 1000+ vs 1000+).
Maybe it helps.
