Crackling Sound - SB Audigy

Whenever in the game, randomly every 15mins or so the sound will make all my sound (even external music, etc... crackle, like a radio interference type sound.

I only recall this happening in battles so far, so it may be one of the fighting sounds in particular that make it happen?

My drivers are up to date and i have no sound issues with any other games/programs/music.

Any ideas?

PS - This issue has only come abount since the new patch, no sound problems with the original/older versions.
