Courtship question

So I started playing Warband yesterday, and I started talking with a lady.  She asked me to meet her, without her father's knowledge ('cuz I'm just that sexy).  So I go there, and her nurse tells me to wait by the spring outside the gate for her.  What spring outside the gate?  How the heck do I actually do this?  Do I just agree, then wait in the castle for a time?  I have no clue, and I can't just exit the castle through the gate.

I think so. I've only tried it once and remember spawning in the garden without doing anything to get there.
