Council Chambers: Ideas & Suggestions

Hey, I have a humble suggestion. With all the bullets and grenades flying around some sort of battle continuation system would make the game much better to play.

Also, I think for a Psuedo-mexican faction you should have it in some sort of Civil war like Mexico was in in the early 1900s. That'd be pretty cool.

Loving the mod so far.

how about both pseudo-cuban and mexican? The remnants of the desert could be fought over by these two factions. I'm well aware that doubles the work, but on the other side, I think we really do need a stereotypical sombrero army and another communist faction.

Actually scrap this, we need a second Asian faction, like a pseudo japan.

Yes, there needs to be an option to play as one of your troops after you die. Great idea.

Why would we have to pick between Mexico and Cuba? Why not just have it be a Communist Mexico? As in, what would have happened if Che had brought the revolution over to Mexico. We could have all the regular Mexican cliches combined with a non-mainstream version of communism.

Who here's in favour of the Socialist Republic of San Gevera, the pseudo-Cuban faction that should be Balion's main enemy?

I agree, this would be amazing, a small island trying to defeat a giant like Balion.

Also, I saw the new uniforms of the Vaegirs, they are amazing.

New suggestion:

How do you people think of a system to 'motorized' your troops?
Since motorization of infantry became a trend in the inter-war years, I think it's reasonable to include such feature in this mod. Basically the idea is to make your party a lot faster on the campaign map as to simulate their superior speed over foot soldiers (I think the speed should be slightly/significantly better than all-cavalry party). It doesn't require actual drivable vehicle since only mechanized infantry goes to battle with their armoured truck.

As to the implementation of this idea. IMO this may be done though, in the most simple way, though creating a truck item that increase path-finding skill greatly (or to set the skill to a particular level) when having it in inventory. The model of the player on the campaign map while carrying this item will become that of a truck as well. You may even have different model of trucks on the market varying in performances.

However this may be a bit unrealistic since it doesn't reflect the quantity of the vehicles needed per men, the maintenance of the vehicles or the chances of losing them. Unless there's a specific system made for it, such as making a hidden 'truck number' for players (that you may check in the camp menu) that's purchasable in cities for a certain price and capacity (like 1 trucks for 10 men). As long as the party size doesn't exceed the limits, player's party enjoy the advantage of 'motorization' (speed upgrade and truck model in campaign map, and perhaps an additional independent vehicle inventory accessible by camp menu) . Each vehicles have their maintenance cost that's deducted like troops wages. Trucks would be lost by chances if losing a skirmish (in in real life), and player may lost all of them if defeated completely and taken prisoner.

I actually like this idea a lot.

Though, I also would like a more proper ironsight system, a realistic recoil system instead of spread, and much larger maps, but I guess those are a little outside of the restraints of the Mount and Blade engine or require a ridiculous amount of coding.

As for the new Balionic faction, maybe a Northern/French/Quebec styled country in-between New Albion and Balion would be better than a pseudo-Mexican faction? Maybe, a United Balionic Communes, with a syndicalist/radical-democratic government, could have seceded from the southern Confederate States of Balion during the Balionic Civil War, as a reverse of what happened with America in real life? However, I would imagine that the map might have to change. Maybe the nation is on a peninsula or the continent widens as the map goes northwards with the boundary between the hypothetical UBC and New Albion being a river akin to the Saint Lawrence?

I'm new to this site, admittedly. So, I hope my ideas aren't too out there.

Found some very nice citation you shiuld take a note to:
"Bedouins are noted to be great warriors in history and they were proud of their firearms, swords, and daggers, personalizing them "

I don't suppose somebody could edit the marching sound to be a little softer and happen every 3-5 seconds instead of every second like now. It gets really annoying fast.

It might be a bug, mine only happens once in a blue moon and isn't that loud.

Could possibly be a bug worth looking into, because it really is grating. The sound itself does need to be softened slightly.

I agree that there is demand for a Monty Pythonesque humour mod (like the old Gangs of Glascow). However, this is not the mod which I think should fill that demand. Minor scifi elements and Red Alert vibes are okay, but total randomness doesn't do anyone justice.

Agreed, this is better served without such stuff. Already has the moose mercenary unit and mounties for the Canada faction...that's about enough haha.

I think jokes on mod are good like the merchant on first quest saying "Strange, I see a box with a lot of words but I am not moving my mouth"
But if you wish to do a serious mod with only a two or three jokes, do it.

I suggest a dedicated open STEAM Group for this mod, so you can easily find a dedicated group of bug testers who can use the thing to report bugs for the next update.

That's probably a good idea, I'll make one this weekend.
