I was playing and it suddenly struck me that couched lances are in the game - which is odd, since while the technique of using the lance as a point concentrating a rider's momentum was well known and widely used by the Byzantines even during the dark ages, it didn't gather any sort of real following in mainland Europe before the 12th century. The Bayeux Tapestry shows knights holding their lances overarm rather than underarm, in a stabbing or throwing position rather than a proper lancing one.
I must admit I haven't got the faintest clue about warfare in the British isles during the dark ages, but the couched lances just seem out of place. Are there any records about lances being used widely in a couched manner in the isles during Brytenwalda's timeframe? If not, shouldn't the ability to couch your lance be removed from the mod entirely for historical accuracy?
Great mod though, I like that you can't be riding around on a charger in five inches of plate within a few days
