Jean Plassy
Sergeant at Arms

I have noticed something apparently new today. Since .903 I've never seen the AI couch a lance, and that was after the implementation of new tourneys and the like where the AI would try to use the lance like a spear.
However today while playing I've seen several cases of shieldless AI guys couching their lances. The key here is "shieldless", since the ones who did that were Raiding Bandits (who mostly have no shields) and a tourney lancer that previously lost his shield. In all other occasions the AI did not couch the lance.
I wonder if there's a way to make the AI couch the lance more often, even with shields. Reason is that most lances are very bulky and unsuited to anything but couching, and the AI lancers thus play less than optimally with it; AI couched lances also are a bit more intimidating since I dislike the sight of a pointy stick readied near me
