Hi, im new here... and i read quite alot of the topics.. but its kinda hard to read ALL of them.. so im not sure if this has been asked before...

Anyways, with the editor... im trying to make a 2h Sword weapon that can be 'couched' but i cant seem to make it happen... Can anyone help ?

Well, the thing is... in order to couch it, the weapon must be a polearm type, so basicly.. right now.. i have a Sword looking polearm that i can swing like a sword >.<

have you seen if the reverse happens? i think replacing the double-sided lance model with one of the long swords would look pretty hilarious.
what happens if you replace the sword model with a great lance? i know that it won't couch, but some screenshots of a swinging great lance would be cool. hey river pirates, do you think i can get slash damage with this large blunt wooden object?

You most certainly can replace the the model...

Right now.. i have a 1h Polearm that can couch, looks like a sword, that is swung with 2h (I use that animation cause i think it looks better) and is MUCH longer than what it appears to be (Cause the sword model is short) :D

just for fun, i made a lance with the max reach 255. I put the model as the doubleheaded, because it's the shortest polearm (i think.) people were dropping dead waaay in front of me

In the editer , all you need to do is pick the mesh (2h sword). Then pick Polearm in the right side. Then pick the animation's you want for the weapon. Eg. Polearm animations.

would I be able to subsitute horses for weapons? I seem to remember somebody that was killin people with throwing chargers.

ok, this is very embarrassing, but i really dont even know how to use my couched lance. am i supposed to attack while riding the horse very fast? or do i just ram into the enemy?

i seem to only be able to do 30 damage to either the rider or horse alone.

When you're going above or at a certain speed, the lance will go down so that it's pointing in front of the horse. Make that point hit the enemy, don't try to attack with the left mouse button. Should do -alot- of damage.

ok, i have another question but this time concerning speeds.

on a store item (weapon or shield), does a high speed number make an item faster or slower?

and during battle, what does a negative speed bonus mean? why do you lose or gain speed as you fight?

thanks.

The speed bonuses that are part of the damage readout, I think he means.... My understanding is that how fast your going (and in whch direction) affects how much damage you do. I'm not sure exactly how the percentage is worked out, but I always assumed it meant your damage was increased (or decreased) by that percent.

the damage for couched weapons is based on the speed of impact. The weapon itself will do a specific amount of damage. if the relative speed between you and your target is high (you are both moving towards eachother) then the bonus will be a plus. If the speed is below a certain point (you are chasing the target but he is moving away and therefore the speed between you is low) the bonus will be a minus.
