True, but toxic game development is also the norm today.
What do I mean by that? Well just look at EA, Take-Two, Bethesda, Activision-Blizzard and how they are ruining their games because of financial greed and political pandering.

Now I'm not saying TW falls into this category, just pointing out that maybe toxic fandom and toxic game development sort of are two sides of the same coin.

Go somewhere else guys I want to talk about covid. I enjoy whining as well but at least try to relate things to the topic. There are more than enough threads near the top of the forums that are appropriate for your conversation.

Bob you started this please dont bait people like that on here

I think corona has a negative impact on game reviews, playing games on quarantine is less satisfying/fun for me, there isn't "you came home from job/school, tired. Playing some games to relax" feeling. You are always comfortable, relax, you usually don't feel like you achieved something so you are rewarding yourself with games.

But that doesn't mean Bannerlord is a flawless game, we would just have more fun

I think it's so hard to grasp how this game is doing and where it is going. How is a mount and blade game the biggest release of 2020 when it's by an indie Turkish developer? Was everyone looking for something, anything to grasp onto and this just came out at the right time?

It isn't the biggest release of 2020 but it is very big indeed, like bigger than TLOU2 or Ghost of Tsushima. (Biggest release is the new Animal Crossing, 22 million units sold.) Bannerlord came out in the perfect time, I felt like Armagan knew there will be a pandemic in 2020 March. Everyone was trying to save money because they might need it but also trying to play games therefore they searched for games like Bannerlord, cheap but you can play it hundreds of hours. They bought it, I don't think Bannerlord would sell more than 5 million if it was released in 2019 or early.
