corona? :(

Spain has done too little, too late. The government has been completely ineffective so far, and many people take the epidemic as a joke. Even our politicians are ignoring quarantine procedures.

Similar thing happening rn at Turkey. Not because that much cases like in Spain or Italy(our government said there is just 5 cases, and all from same relatives), but to prevent undetected possible spreads.

At the near future, 6 months later ie, corona might cause much more death & economic crisis.

I also read an arguement about possible crisis, which tells that firms such as online movie providers -like Netflix- or video-game companies will be economically beneficial, but i think even they can be effected after a big crisis. Companies producing hygiene products should be also beneficial, but if they can manage to produce continuous.

An interesting side effect is that online games are overpopulated right now.

This pandemic must be heaven for sociologists.
- "If we could just close down parts of society we might see changes in peoples's perception of work and quality of life etc. on a grand scale."
- "Yeah, well, Peter, sadly you just can't close down society to prove your theories, okay!"
...
Cue: Curb Your Enthusiasm theme ?

First announced vaccine for coronavirus is undergoing clinical trials in Canada. God bless the Canucks.
First I'd heard of this, but Amen. There haven't been many cases in western NY where I live -yet-, but people are starting to get pretty scared. Grocery stores are getting overwhelmed, as people are buying food and supplies faster than the stores can get new stock in. Universities were closing earlier in the week, then the private/charter schools around Rochester were closing, and now today some of the public schools are closing. The news on the radio and TV is coronavirus, coronavirus, coronavirus. It feels like everybody's just waiting to see what happens and how bad it gets. The people I know are mostly dismissing it and laughing at how people seem to be panicking, but to be honest I'm getting a bit nervous myself. I sure hope it blows over soon and that western NY isn't affected.

A bit extraordinary that they would announce anything before trials are complete. Probably because of the panic involved.

They are gonna need at least 6 months to develop and approve a vaccine. There are many phases to developing vaccine some even required by the law and approval by government. It is usually around a year but even if they speed up the process it would take months at least.

Well, my country is now in full lockdown like Italy. I wish Bannerlord would've released a month sooner.

and the confirmed(also detected) case number is:

As we can see, it was 1. then 5. then 6. now 18. Just detected ones

-cologne producers have difficulties in production
-it is foreseen that pasta producers will not experience any problems in the near future (if they cut exports)

still, many lifes under risk and markets will be more caotic if it spreads as Italy or Spain.

Turkey17.03.2020

Today, I saw stores crowded. There were spilled food and empty boxes O.O
"+29 new cases in 24 hours" announced in Turkey.

47* is the total detected number.

Tougher additional measures + less shopping coming s00n.

I hope the britons do OK. But I think their lax approach could end up causing more deaths.

In Denmark we've reached more than 1000 cases, but only 4 confirmed deaths.
That's an oddly low death rate compared to other places. Less than 100 are hospitalised.
But several people are in intensive care, so we might see deaths rise in coming days.
