Hello and welcome.
I see quite a lot of discussions about character progression system in the game and ideas on how to change/improve it.
I'd like to suggest something that might serve as a "bridge" between warband 'XP/kill -> player LVL -> skill improvement' and bannerlords 'usage of skill -> skill improvement', since it seems hard and grindy to improve some of the skills currently unless you specifically focus on them.
That system would be convertible XP from killing enemies. Like in warband, you'd get XP for killed/incapacitated enemies based on their level. But instead of this directly increasing character progres to next level, this XP would be stored for each character (at least player, his family and companions) as "Free XP" and player could convert that XP to experience in any skill he wishes.
When converting, learning rate could also be taken into account, so 24 "Free XP" converted to a skill in which you have a 2.5 learning rate would result in 60 experience for that skill.
Let me know what you think of this idea.
