I can't read the .txt files whatsoever (the numbers, they hurt my head!!!). Is it possible to convert them back into .py files that can be opened with IDLE?

Also, how do you know what the .py files transforms into as far as the .txt files? For example, module_constants.py, when one uses build_module.bat does the information from that file go into a particular .txt file, several, or what?

Sorry if this has been asked before. I looked through the tutorials and did some searches but didn't really find anything that clicked in my head.

Converting back can't be done. Even if it were, as HardCode pointed out correctly, it shouldn't be done. If a modders don't release the source of their mod, they obviously didn't intend for it to be open source. If you really like a feature in a mod and the source isn't available you can always try texting the author to see if they're willing to share their secrets.

As far as the other thing goes, you can look at the .py files, in the top you can see which other .py files it includes when it builds, so that should give you a pointer on what goes into which file.

No decompiler talk on the forums or Discord, please.
There should be meanwhile enough programs out there for that ^^

Decompilers are per rule not discussed, neither on the forum nor at the modding discord. They and the discussions about them caused already a lot of trouble which is aimed to be prevented with that rule.

Also, that's a pretty good necro, over ten years should give you a top place in the rankings

I hope the nature of modding Bannerlords will be different so that closed source projects not a thing. There are so many broken dead mods for M&B its not funny, its a shame. It would be hard to make tweaks or corrections to mods just because of the closed source nature of this modding system.

Why?
The ones who are longer in the community and know how to mod themselves will find them anyway and have to decide at their own if they want to use it. And newbies should not be lead towards them because the don't can handle stuff anyway and we have more mess in the end than we want to.

It seems I missed your previous comment

I'm working on a tool and i'm gonna add some txt to python stuff to make creating and tweaking mods easier because, as TrevorDemented stated,

this community need more tools to **** with other people's mods

I agree but it's good for both experienced and newbies to have better tools. I started making mine when Morgh's Editor isn't enough.

I'm really curious now but what makes you think you are entitled to **** with other people's mods?
I'm talking about resurrecting dead mods and tweaking. I see no harm in doing these. Owners of the dead mods are long gone, so you can't take their permission and i don't think any modder cares about someone else maintaning their dead mod as long as they are giving the proper credits for what they've done for the mod. About tweaking, you can do whatever you want for personal use. There some tools for tweaking out there (TweakMB, Morgh's Editor etc.). If these are not banned i see no reason not to make other ones.

Btw is "be entitled to" a commonly used phrase? I'm not a native speaker. I mostly heard that kind of phrases in sjw rallies. I'd like to avoid getting into heated arguments over petty stuff

if for personal use you can do whatever you want. As long it stays inside your 4 walls.

if you want to share your work, however, you will need to follow the rules, so check the guidelines on what you can and cannot do with other people works. If you break the rules your mod will just be removed from the forum/etc, so you would be wasting time.

The current policy is no decompiler talk on the forums or Discord. I thought snipping stuff in red text would be a decent indicator, alas not it seems.

I concede it's a very vague and unwritten rule stemming from the past which is why no warnings will be dispensed and we'll look into coming up with a written and official stance on this throughout the month.
