I'm wondering...there is no kingdom management in this game. Can we recruit lords to our faction?  And will everyone gang up on me if I start my own kingdom?

I'm guessing you've missed something somewhere; "kingdom management" is the point.  The intent was to be able to recruit lords with whom you have a good relation but the mechanic might be broken.  One of the pacing problems is that you spend a good portion of the game with too few lords.  This will be addressed in the next version.  If you start your own kingdom, you automatically get one warring faction.  Anything beyond that is up to the faction AI.
 
Well, I started my own kingdom.  I did 2 quests with a lord to get positive relations.  But no option to recruit him.  I'm not sure what the mechanic is to recruit lords...seems just like native so far.
 
Eh. I am assuming it's broken. I tried it out with the honour cheat, and even if they're devoted, I can't seem to find an option to recruit them. :l Bummer. It really is an awesome map. :razz:

Edit: Oh. I found it! You have to capture them, then talk to them. Lulz. My bad.
 
Hrm, interesting.  I fixed a bug last night that was preventing that dialog from working.  I wonder what manner of badness I've introduced locally to make that break.  At any rate, it should be fixed fo reals in the next version.
 
Awesome, I must say this mod has surprised me with quality. Nowadays people announce mods, but most of them don't make it, or just aren't good. There are always exceptions...looking forward to the next version, anyway...
 
Wow, I am impressed with this. I have only had a chance to test it out for about ten minutes but I am really impressed

With any luck (pending testing), v0.60 is on the way this Friday. 

Short list of changes:
- Bugs fixed with companion parties
- New lords added
- Player faction specific troop lines added
- Enemy lords make special guest appearances
- Troop gear tightened up and should loot better
- More lord interactions
- Enemy lords buffed substantially
- Whistle for your horse command (z)
- Increased walled center garrisons
- New buildings added (recruiter, fortification, guard post)
- Numerous patrol fixes
- Lords build improvements now
- Lots of miscellaneous tweaks

The feature list is locked down as of this afternoon so I'm just testing/bugfixing now.
 
Looks like a fun mod. I'm still trying to find a mod I really like so I can write a story about my adventures. Hopefully this one will be it!
 
I've played for a couple of hours and it is very enjoyable.
The new companions are nice, the big bandit parties are fun, the unique weapon seems cool.
I like this.

Swadia rules. Literally. The Swadian AI has managed to conquer almost all of Calradia (The damn Nords still have Curaw, which they have taken from the Vaegirs) with my help. I love this mod, and cannot wait to start anew with the next version...
 
This is one awesome mod!!! I´m really loving it sofar, only thing I would like to see implemented is the autoloot thingy for the companions and it would be super :smile:. Any chance of that? :smile:

Can I suggest a name change on the "Masterwork Sword of War"?


It seems kinda lame in comparison to all the other soul eating weapons. Your mod is freaking awesome but this thing seems out of place since...it's just not as cool as the other ones.


The thing just feels so bland amongst a bunch of awesome choices.

The black bow and arrows! The shimmering white blade! The sword made of space-metal! And finally, the weapon that you could totally get in the normal game, but it eats souls.


Maybe you could call it "The Decapitating blade of sadness and remorse" Or "The horse slaying blade....from hell." Maybe even "Trail of tears".


Anyway, soul eating weapons are awesome.

It's on my list of things to do.  I don't personally use the autoloot feature when it's available in other mods, but I can see why people like it.  I spend a lot of time juggling equipment around on cavalry to make them do what I want (they couch if they don't have shields but I ain't sendin' them up the ladder like that).

Sure!  I've never been especially happy with that label.  My only request is to keep in the same style of the other artifacts.  Just off the top of my head:
- A razor-sharp longsword
- A stalwart blade of war
- A meanacing sword of war
- An imposing greatsword
- A dominating longsword

The next version (0.60) adds two new artifacts both paying homage:
- A wicked bastardaxe
- A brilliant white charger

 
I'm also liking the kingdom management stuff and
new buildings, and that my people give me unique gifts that are also upgradeable. This is a nice touch, as is the items gaining "experience".
All in all, this Mod is becoming a favourite already.
 
One tiny grievance, I got to level 27 and saw a ridicualas battle,  138 sea raiders vs. Lord Aeric....Aeric lost.....
So maybe you should balance that somehow or maybe thats how it is intended, I honestly don't know. It kinda jumped outta to me
 
If Lord Aeric had mostly low level troops, that's what should happen.  Sea Raiders are relatively high level and have decent gear.  They end up being just about on par with Nord Regulars.  Without more details about the size and composition of Lord Aeric's force it's hard to say if it's malfunctioning.
