Connection problems

Something needs to be done about this, I have beem trying to connect TW for the last ~ 6 hours.

Today was almost impossible for me to connect. Maybe it's time for Armagan to spend some bucks and upgrade whatever it is that it needs to be upgraded, since now that Muffins has been released all the crew screw psychos will flock to the bundt cake to discuss their m4d sk1llz.

Hmm... looks like today was the busiest day we've ever had, with 1127 people on at a time. That's probably the reason. We're due for a new waitress some time soon, which should take care of it.
Also, not that I expect it will make a performance difference, but I'll be updating to SMF 2.0 RC3 tomorrow night around this time (~25 hours or so).

Yeah, last I heard Armagan was in the process of getting the new server set up, which should basically take care of everything.

In the meantime I've fiddled with the MySQL configuration a bit more; hopefully it'll take care of the occasional "SMF was unable to connect to the database" errors we've been getting, while potentially making things run ever so slightly slower whenever we get up around ~700+ users at a time. We'll see, though.

Yeah. Yesterday evening I wasn't able to acceess the forums from 7 to 3 PM (GMT+1)...
And today again for a few hours, it's really annoying. All these stupid newbs!

This seems to be ALL the time.
Your fiddling seems to be working. Though it feels like running the browser on a old 486 computer, it gets the pages open.
