Alright, what exaclty is all this talk of M&B2? I mean, is this actually planned? Or just kind of a nice idea that may or may not come to pass even if M&B1 sells well?

Armagan has referenced M&B 2 many times - he's said he's keeping some features (like separate horse armour) for the sequel.

Meh...ain't it a bit way too early to plan on a sequel when the first game hasn't even gone out of beta stages yet?

Yes, it is - but Armagan isn't planning the sequel, just saying that many of the features people are requesting (such as horse armour or multiplayer) will only see the light of day in M&B2, not this one.

You, sir, are not a programmer, are you?

That has nothing to do with his question?? I think he is right

What's that supposed to mean? Do you think game design / development is some kind of spur of the moment, make it up as you go process? I worked with a designer who at any given time had 5-10 finished design ocuments ready for proposal. Sequel development often begins before the first game is done, mostly on the design / code end.

Armagan is in a different situation, but he's already living off m&b purchases; if he enjoys what he's doing, it makes perfect sense to plan for a sequel.

There is no publisher waiting to see how well the first one sells (it's that kind of attitude that leads to a plethora of 'safe' products and few fresh / inspired products).

*shrugs* I'm no developer...so much is true...altho I've played games enough to know how badly the industry has degrated from quality to quantity...making good games isn't as much of a priority as trying to sell as many of them as possible...

And yes, in my ears it sounds a bit ridiculous to plan a sequel before the first game is even done since how can you have a superior sequel if you don't even know what the first game will end up as? Unless one wants to keep patching up his plans for the sequel as the first game takes shape, this approach makes little sense, specially for a two-man team.

But hey, that's not my call to make in the end of course...as I said, I'm no programmer...I just express my view...
