Confused about early access

Can i pre-order the game now and start playing early-access right away. Or (sorry for my potentially stupid question) do i need to wait till march 31 to start playing early access? thanks fdor your honest response heart a lot of good stuff about M&B

No way you can pre-order an early access game.

Early Access is already earlier than full release. You cannot play earlier than that.

Yes you need to wait till 31 march for the EA release. You cannot pre-order an EA title.

The EA will start up at 31 March, it is not the full game, but it should be fully playable, just with certain features missing. You can not preorder Early Acess games. There is a multiplayer beta going on atm, but its invite only, so when you see people playing the game, thats what you are seeing footage from mostly (and from a "simple" mod made from those beta files)
