Concerns about purchasing Bannerlord

So I've been thinking lately about Taleworlds and the release of Bannerlord, which I'm sure we're all anticipating with bated breath. Taleworlds is a unique company that managed to make a truly unique game - M&B which Bannerlord will be the successor to. I really, really love M&B because it hits the spot. No other game has ever come close to hitting, the spot. You all know what I mean, that part within us men that makes us want to fight and conquer and crush. No other game does it like M&B and no other game ever will, at least not likely in a decade or two.

Anyway, now that you get where I'm coming from my concern is regarding where exactly to purchase Bannerlord. I want to make sure the devs get the money. I turn to some, uh, previously-thought-to-be-shady sites for most of my games because it's cheap and my economy is strained. Does it really matter where I get the game? Do those sites steal CD keys or something so the devs don't get paid?

It's a pretty silly notion, I know, but I want Taleworlds to do well financially and continue to make games for us for many years to come. Help put my mind at ease!

Obviously if you're paying less, less is going to the devs. If you want your money to go straight to TaleWorlds, I'm sure there'll be an option to buy it from this website, rather than through Steam or a Russian key re-seller.

Sites like G2A have been exposed as using methods from minor larceny to out right theft to obtain their cheap keys, yes. If you want to support the developer, I would not recommend those sites.

Thanks a lot guys, that's exactly the input I was looking for. Here's to hoping we can buy the game through the official website!

Confirmed. I even read something recently about G2A where many of the keys sold through their site are purchased with stolen credit cards, which naturally get cancelled. Steam then revokes keys bought with them. Even a glance at their business scheme should send up a few red flags. What kind of digital retailer offers extra paid-for "insurance" for purchases? The kind that sometimes sells you a broken product (or an empty box) and needs to cut their losses when you demand a refund. 'Cause G2A will give you a refund, if you can prove beyond any doubt that you bought something through them and it doesn't work, but you're going to be hassling them about it for days before you get your money back (or another a key that may also get revoked). Every purchase is a dice roll.

Better to just buy straight from TW. No middle-man, nobody else taking a cut.

Thank you, Orion, for the ringing endorsement.  The funds should be in your account by close of business Thursday.
