  A new king has snatched the throne of Aquilonia, taken from the dead hands of the former liege in the bloody field of battle. That new leader is Conan, a Cimmerian, the newly crowned barbarian king of the land. But predators lurk on Conan's borders; King Tarascus of Nemedia, the age old nemesis of Aquilonia, is intent upon claiming the new land and recreating an Acheronian empire, as of old. He sees Aquilonia as a nation fragmented; he is wrong. Aquilonia fights like a lion, gathering forces to strike back. Meanwhile, in the west, Wakanda Sag has united disparate Pict tribes and has forced his way into the Westermarke. He has crossed the Thunder River and raids the western villages, intent on expanding the Pictish lands, fighting with the ferocity only a Pict posesses. Will Aquilonia defend it's borders and beat back invasions on two fronts? Will Nemedia defeat its enemies and unite the two kingdoms under its banner? Or will the Picts destroy the strongest and oldest Hyborian nations? You will be the deciding factor in this epic power struggle between these three nations.


Current Features:
+3 factions: Aquilonia, Nemedia, and the Picts, all with their own troop trees. (Aquilonia and Nemedia trees completed)
+Map true to R.E. Howard's world, complete with correct placement of cities and towns named.
+A sorcerer class with a large amount of spells, which he gains when sacrificing prisoners, including a "demon attunement" skill. Max mana is based off a combination of intelligence and demon attunement. (Sorcerers start at negative relations to all factions)
+Boats which you purchase from a city near a river (you can get only one).
+Some new models, including new shields, helms, tomahawks, swords, and some retextured armors.
+Capturable/Recruitable NPCs. When an NPC is captured, his lands are divvied up between the remaining lords in his faction. (capuring possibility based on the difference between renown between winner and loser) ((not fully fixed yet, captured lords seem to still respawn in towns by themselves, leading to there being multiple parties to each captured lord. Can't seem to find why this is happening))
+Can give orders to friendly lords. (this is based off your renown compared to theirs. The higher yours is, comparatively, the more orders you can give them)
+Siegable cities (core mechanic is in, just need to change the scenes so guys don't spawn on rooftops. Gwawela is done)

Anticipated Features:
-Ship to ship combat.
-More spells, also AI classes casting spells, such as the Pict Totemic class.
-Quests Quests Quests!
-Fully retextured/remodeled items.
-Complete control over the war system, meaning you can completely destroy enemy factions and/or force them to sign a peace treaty.


In the distant future:
/Fully upgradeable villages, with barracks to recruit higher tier troops based on village level.
/Once we find out if we can adjust skeletons, monster groups will spawn such as Yeti's in the north and river creatures on/near rivers.
/May change the sorcerer spell progression to something along the lines of the sorcerer being able to summon a demon while in camp, and by sacrificing combinations of higher level troops to the demon you can gain better spells, instead of just randomly getting them each time you sacrifice a prisoner.
/May add a "surprise" when you hit level 20 and are factioned....... :grin:

I need some good modellers, texturers, and script writers, because my skills are lacking, specifically in the first and second categories

I would help but i'm kind of engaged in a mod of my own.

You should really try to learn the module system. Since 0.890-0.893

It's not really that hard just takes time.

I would release the current progress, but I'm really bugged about the problem with lords spawning after they've been captured. I'm somewhere between novice and moderately decent at scripting, but any help is definitely appreciated. I can do a lot of the coding, but it takes me about an hour to implement a script sans bugs, so I'd prefer someone who is better than me to continue with some of the scripting. I have a friend who is on board that is incredibly good with c++ and numerous other languages, but it'll take him some time before he learns the module system. Thanks for the replies. Once I figure out how to take in-game screenies I'll show off the map, some of the new models, and what not.

Anyone know the timeline for release of this Mod?  Depending on the plans for this Mod, I may decide to develop a different Hyborian Mod myself, or contribute to this one, or simply wait until Age of Conan is released 2Q 2008.
 
It's a complete work in progress, and progress has slowed due to school. However, any help is appreciated!
 
sign me up there mate. unfortunately i can only model, and skin to a low standard (need practice) so no codeing help from me, just give me a list of what you want and ill get on it post-haste, i work 10 hours a day so i can only get 1-2 skins out a day, maybie 4 on the W/e depending on whats on =P I have read all the Conan Chronicles and the 1st Movie.

Have you done this?... how dose the spells work? i didn't think it was possible with this version of BRF.

Those are amazing Enzed, and they will definitely be worked into the mod.

I will use the first two as Aquilonian swords, while the third and fourth most likely as Nemedian items; the sword as an Adventurer's two-hander and the helm as a standard Nemedian helm. Very good stuff! I'll PM you me email and you can start sending me some of your excellent work.


The spells are in planning right now; As it is, they are effectively throwing weapons that call scripts to do additional effects.
 
Good idea for a mod. I will be interested to see how the spells work in particular. Nice modelling Enzed.
The Ku****e weapon will be something to see!

no, the other day i worked on a pole arm just for fun, and  when i went to save it i must have used the same name and it saved over the sword.
 
That sucks, but I'll use the polearm anyhow. going to class now, but I'll try to get them in game tonite and then put up some pics. I'm thinking a wood hilt with an ivory pommel for one o the swords.
