Computer Specs on max

so out of people who run on max, whats your system specs? i want to get a new desktop computer but i dont know enough about the hardware to look at pre-built ones and know whats good or whats not. i was going to build one but i dont have $1000 us

Nvidia GeForce 9600GT OC
2GB DDR2 ram

If I was not playing the game through Wine, I'd be running Warband at max everything with even this aging setup.

You don't need $1000 to get a very good computer built up.  Even assuming that you don't recycle any components and live in California like I do, $639.17 (after taxes and shipping) is enough to leave you set for several years:

will that run the new games for the next couple years? or is that set to run games that already released

The specs I posted work perfectly well with Warband.  The parts I linked to, when put together, will run anything for the next 5 years minimum.

He should go with dual or triple channel RAM. Also, ATI produce better graphics cards for low budget computers.

This will give him more bang for the buck! I can't comment on the rest as I haven't checked the specifics about them, this was just from a glance.
