Lord without a master means you have your own kingdom...

and the trip on your sword response comes from lords who don't like you, look for another.

Does anyone know how to set the castle guard unit type? I noticed the ones outside the castle doors are castle guards, but the ones inside seem to be random faction units... how do I make it so all castle guards are the factions castle guards unit type?

Thanks in advance

Mage - let me just say, you are awesome.  You have made this game so much more fun for me to play - thanks!

Do you (or does anyone else) know how to adjust the skill "Ironflesh" to give MORE than just +2?  I would like to be able to tweak this up to +3 or even +4, to make higher end units more valuable.

Thanks! JB

Hey, I'm the marshall of my faction and, while at war with the khergit, i moved my man in a campaign to stop the siege in one of my faction's castles. However, when I reached there and joined the siege battle as a defender, the other lords did not joined me (as they do when you are the besieger). Does this have a reason, or it's a bug? Can this be tweaked so friendly lords join the battle as defenders?
Or, at least, that you could attack the enemy lord without joining the siege (as the enemy lords actually do when you are besieging a castle).

huh... I normally just wait for them to enter the battle, and THEN I enter it. That's how I do (when Im not the marshall) and the other lords of the campaign are sieging something.

Yeah, that works when your faction is besieging a castle or involved in a field battle. However, when my faction is defending against a siege, the lords don't enter the battle anyway. It doesn't matter if i wait them to join or if I join before them, they NEVER join a siege while defending (unless they were already at the castle when the siege started)

If you're careful and don't want to change the structure of the dialogs, you can edit most of it in quick_strings.txt and strings.txt.  If you start mucking with the structure or the register callouts (e.x.:  reg64, s51) then you're going to have difficulties.

No structure change, just change the back story of some characters. Same structure just different words. Thanks a lot.

is it possible to edit the amount of money you get paid when working as a mercenary for a kingdom? (trough textfiles)

Not sure if this is correct and I haven't tested it, so don't be surprised if it doesn't work.  Take a look in simple_triggers.txt near the top.  You'll find a 6.0 sandwiched between a 168.0 and a 24.0; should be line 12 in the file.

6.000000  11 2270 1 1224979098644774912 4 0 30 2 1224979098644774912 144115188075855953 1 3 936748722493063209 648518346341351424 0 2133 2 1224979098644774913 72057594037927936 2108 2 1224979098644774913 2 2105 2 1224979098644774913 30 1 2 936748722493063384 1224979098644774913 2105 2 144115188075855932 72057594037927936 2120 3 144115188075855953 1224979098644774912 168 3 0

After the bit in blue, add this:
2105 2 144115188075855932 YOURVALUEHERE

So if you were to use 1000, it should look like this:

6.000000  11 2270 1 1224979098644774912 4 0 30 2 1224979098644774912 144115188075855953 1 3 936748722493063209 648518346341351424 0 2133 2 1224979098644774913 72057594037927936 2108 2 1224979098644774913 2 2105 2 1224979098644774913 30 1 2 936748722493063384 1224979098644774913 2105 2 144115188075855932 72057594037927936 2105 2 144115188075855932 1000 2120 3 144115188075855953 1224979098644774912 168 3 0

That should add however many denars you like to your accumulated mercenary pay every six hours (assuming I'm reading it correctly, anyway).

i was able to use the modify arena equipment tweak in .960, but it seems not to work in 1.011/Native Expansion. i changed the entries in mission_templates.txt, but it didn't change the way tournament fighters spawned at all.

are the tournament equipment loadouts located elsewhere in 1.011?  can anyone can point out where to tweak arena equipment for 1.011/Native Expansion? thanks!

One problem I always have is food, especially when I have a large army in the late game I just can never seem to carry enough food. Is there a way to tweak the code so that your troops dont consume as much food so that it lasts longer?

Oh hey Seekster, I just noticed your question

You could edit the trigger that makes you consume food. It triggers every 14 hours, and it's the ONLY one in simple_triggers.txt with that as the timer. So just open up simple_triggers.txt and find this:
14.000000  37 31 2 144115188075856120 0 1650 2 1224979098644774912 648518346341351424 2133 2 1224979098644774913 0 6 3 1224979098644774914 0 1224979098644774912 1653 3 1224979098644774915 648518346341351424 1224979098644774914 2105 2 1224979098644774913 1224979098644774915 3 0 2108 2 1224979098644774913 3 4 0 31 2 1224979098644774913 0 2105 2 1224979098644774913 1 3 0 2133 2 1224979098644774916 1224979098644774913 2133 2 1224979098644774917 0 6 3 1224979098644774918 0 1224979098644774916 2133 2 1224979098644774919 0 6 3 1224979098644774920 288230376151711814 288230376151711828 507 3 1224979098644774920 0 0 1 3 936748722493063328 1224979098644774920 41 2105 2 1224979098644774919 1 3 0 4 0 32 2 1224979098644774919 0 2136 3 1224979098644774921 0 1224979098644774919 1 2 936748722493063416 1224979098644774921 5 0 31 2 1224979098644774917 0 1106 2 1585267068834415008 16711680 1 2 936748722493063327 -3 2133 2 1224979098644774917 1 4 0 1 2 936748722493063237 648518346341351424 32 2 72057594037927936 0 1 3 936748722493063470 2 216172782113784187 3 0 3 0 3 0
the 14 is the # of hours between eating. It's kind of an odd number to consume food, isn't it? I mean, who eats every 14 hours?  A higher number would make it trigger less often. You could also change the # of men it takes to consume 1 unit of food, that's the 3. What it does is take the total number of men and divide by 3, then if it's below 0 it adds 1 (so you always consume at least 1 unit).

I've used this mod,in game when i siege this happens
I didn't lay siege to castles or towns I just took them by force, Now when I lay siege and it goes pass the allotted time in my case 50 and 15 days the garrison just stays put , and the siege goes on after 30 days i just took it ,but the troop amounts stayed the same from beginning to end, does this mod alter troops not starving?

Thks these gR8 mods

Hello:wink:

Is it possible to change how often factions declare war? I just started my own kingdom, I am too weak to be at war with anyone realy, so i paid vaegirs for peace (took their castle) , but then swadians and nords declared war to me, so i paid them (all my savings:sad: ) but after a week or so they declared war again. I gues there is some check like "if not_at_war then declare_random" so i gues solution would be to make this check less frequent, like once a month?
