Compilation of 82 little tweaks to the text files to change your gameplay(links)

Something doesn't seem right, I don't know if it's through extensive modding or some human-error on my part ((which I suspect though I don't understand where!))

It's not your fault, I tried following my instructions with an unmodded version and it would appear that the code I posted doesn't work, basically the number which refers to current town should be 144115188075856056, but in the text files generated after I added this to the module system they were increased by 1 to 144115188075856057 for some reason.  Correct this and it works; I've edited my original post now.  Sorry about that, but I have to say I have no idea why that happened.

Gah!  It's still throwing up an error when I edit the lines. Please don't assume that it's human error on my part, I've had no problem with any other tweak here in this wonderful list! I've just spent the best part of an hour copying&pasting, editing and tweaking the endline numbers in an attempt to get this working but ai! I'm having problems with this tweak too.

I've only put in the tweak to speak with the village elder so far (so I can be sure where the error is if something doesn't work) and the result is that when I choose to speak with the village elder, I meet myself in my capacity of faction leader for Playerfaction. I just patched it but had to redo pretty much all the tweaks (1.011 overwrote almost every text file), so yea, you'll probably have to redo them all.

The Yogi, virus_found:  The bugs you describe seem to relate to not having the right 'current town' number, exactly which number is in your file seems to vary, but if the meeting code has the wrong number for your file it doesn't work.  I'll edit my original post to point out where to check you have the right number and make changes.  If that doesn't work let me know, and I'll have another look.

Turanien:  I replaced the relevant portions of my file with yours and tried to get it to work with no luck, I'm besieging every town, and looting every village, although the only changes I can find relate to collecting taxes and changing them back to default didn't do anything.  Here's the same sections of code from a working version of the file, I hope these work for you.

Seekster, I looked into the way the kingdom name is set and wow, I found a really easy way to make ANY custom name for your kingdom. Heres how:

Open up quick_strings.txt and find

qstr_{s1}_Rebels {s1}_Rebels

Change this to

qstr_{s1}_Rebels {playername}

After this very simple change is done, go and start your kingdom (either by talking to a claimant and accepting rebellion, or taking your own land). As soon as you do this, your kingdom is created - and since we changed the string, the name is set to YOUR name. All you have to do is name yourself whatever you want the kingdom to be named and that will be your kingdom name.
Like if I named myself "Kingdom of Better Nords" and then rebelled against the nords, my player kingdom would be named Kingdom of Better Nords. Then you just change your name back and you have your very own custom named kingdom!

The name is set as the player name at the time that the script fires (when you join a claimant or take land without a kingdom). After that you can change your name to whatever you want.

The idea of setting it to {playername} is so that it will call up your character's name when it gets set, and you can have different kingdom names between saves without further editing. If all you want is one kingdom name for all your games you can simply change it to that name, using _ as spaces. Like

qstr_{s1}_Rebels Kingdom_of_Whee

This works the same as if you changed it to playername and then set your character's name to Kingdom of Whee before the rebellion, but it will always be set as that so if you forget to change your player's name it will still have it. Either way works

An old one that quite many will know, but that might be useful for others that can't fiddle around with the module system (didn't find it myself):

In module.ini, you can change the amount of damage one needs to receive in order to get his interrupted, the used line is

damage_interrupt_attack_threshold      = 3.0

The number (3.0 for me, but I think at least in 0.960 it defaulted to 0.0) is the amount of damage needed for a stagger
So this means, if I take less than 3.0 damage, my attacks will not get interrupted - if I take a hit that deals, for example, 5 damage, I will still be interrupted normally. Setting the number at 0.0 means that every attack against you will interrupt you, even if no damage was dealt...which I found odd, so I changed it
This also affects the AI afaik, so setting it unreasonably high might turn some of the higher class NPCs into even bigger wandering slaughterhouses than they already are

I have no idea if it was safegame-compatible back then, but somebody else will be able to point that out I guess

Turanien:  I replaced the relevant portions of my file with yours and tried to get it to work with no luck, I'm besieging every town, and looting every village, although the only changes I can find relate to collecting taxes and changing them back to default didn't do anything.  Here's the same sections of code from a working version of the file, I hope these work for you.
