Companions.

Some people may consider this a problem, some may not, but I am finding that trying to get companions from taverns is a real pain in the ass. Since there are so many towns in this mod, it takes forever to travel to all the towns to find companions you want, and by the time you get through half of them they reset and the companions may have moved to one you have already been to. I have been trying to find Jeremus since I started the game and i am now 200 days in and still cant find him. I also haven't seen Nizar or Alayen and have been to every town on the map at lest 3 times.

I bring it up because I know the next map is supposed to be even bigger and i assume will have even more towns so it would be nice to figure out a way to make finding them easier, like maybe having certain ones only spawn in certain kingdoms or something like that or changing how often they move. Adding new companions could be nice too to compensate for the massive size of the map.

Yeah, I'm hoping at some point completely custom companions are possible. Especially if they can have their city tours specified so they only go around in their own countries.

And most of all I'd like to see some of the more retarded companions not be there. Like Katrin or whatever her name is. WTF was taleworlds thinking giving a lvl 9 character almost nothing but 7 inv managements when they don't even allow you to access the inventories... >.>

I'd like to be able to find a book merchant too.

In my quest to find Jeremus I actually found a lot of book merchants, there seem to be a bunch, way more than native.

Odd; I managed to find Jeremus (but none of the others) right away, but have yet to see a book merchant.  Have they been renamed to something I don't recognize?

Nope, they're still book merchants.

I've managed to find the companions I want but only because I turned on cheats and teleported to every city in less than a game day.

It would be nice to have some predictability with their movements.

In the camp menu-> Take an action, you can add companions to your party!

Liar, it's just importing/exporting characters! Don't get our hopes up.

I went all around the world looking for companions, it was fun!

I don't think you should be able to find necessarily the companion you want, that'd be boring, imo. It wouldn't hurt to have more companions in the world though. I'd like to see a lot more companions, perhaps with more restrictions on who they'll join though. I play with companion complaints off, I just find it frustrating to have them constantly whinging at me and leaving the party. I'd rather if they were going to interact that they interacted in a positive way.

20-25level I got 8 companions 3 of them i refused... soo i think its too easy to get a companion ;/

I like the present system.  It makes playing another game more intriguing - I had troubles finding Jeremus - so I set up a character that is a doctor/engineer (my usual Jeremus build) and then had a 1 on 3 chance of finding deshavi, klethi, or borcha.  The rest are gravy.

For 1257 with the autosell feature, btw, Katrin is awesome.  7 inventory management means I rarely loot anything - that's an extra 42 slots I do not have to invest in.  Found especially helpful in mass battles.  Also, I may be wrong, but a companions trade value directly impacts their auto-sell capabilities.

I'd like to see 1257 specific companions, or 1257 specific revamps of existing companions, rather than the native companions. They're very anachronistic, but if it's possible to edit the companions they could make a good base for period specific companions. Artimenner might be restyled as an Italian engineer of some sort for example.

Ahh ok, I don't know who all the companions are anyway. I hope ALL the companions don't start off as knights when Othr is done

So far in three games started (but none gone past the 100 days) the greatest number of companions I managed to get was 5. Not really great, I'd say. But anyways. I found two of the "edited" ones. The one was based on Firentis and I think was called Boris. I don't remember about the other one. Both were knights though... low-grade knights, really. Pathetic knights, actually

Yeah, quite pathetic to begin with ... but quite deadly meat-shields after gearing and lvling them out though!

Just like any companion, so companions are much more important and valuable than soldiery. That's why I support a feature like the town bill or crier who lets other towns know of an adventuring party, merc, or later especially vassal and king looking for specialized companions, mebbe even one can specify - I need a medic, or engineer and suitable companions show up after a while (especially if you're a lord, they come to you, but if you're lower, or even merc, you have to find them still)

I prefer the idea of starting with 0 level or level 1 stable boy companions that you can level from scratch. Call them your Squire.

Now that's a sweet idea if I ever seen one. dunno if it's possible to script, but it's very interesting. Generally, the whole companions issue is in need of some love and care. Othr?

The idea isn't bad.  Companions are the most powerful 'troop' you can recruit, sure they require lots of time to develop but they never die either.  They also can become your vassals.

A feature like that could be definitely added but some time in the future, still plenty of work to be done.
