Companions stuck in Uxkhul jail. Cannot break them out.

I am stuck with three companions stuck in Uxkhul jail.
I try to break them out.
Get the key from the guard.
Enter dungeon.
There are bars that I cannot open to talk to any other than one of the companions.

I get out and kill all guards.

The companion I talked to always was wounded and could not come with me.

What gives?
Is it possible to open the bars inside the jail somehow and let them out?
Is it a bug?

They have been imprisoned forever too.
Guess one way would be to capture the city.
But something is wrong with the mechanics here.

not sure on this 'caus i do not have all that much experience with warbands but once when i talked to a ransome broker i got an option to ransom out a companion or something like that so that could be one way to go.

as for the breaking out part i cant help u but i most be a bug or something

You can talk through the bars, it's just very very iffy and you have to be in one specific place. Took me a couple minutes to talk to one Lord I was trying to rescue... and then I realised I needed the keys.

If the people you're rescuing get knocked unconcscious in the escape, they get recaptured. Hence, you need to make sure they don't!

I thought some prisoners are put too far away from the bars so you cant talk to them. Should of been fixed long ago tbh, its hardly difficult to just move the spawn point forward a step.

if you can't break them out, get a large army together (friendly lords,and their armies, will follow you if you have proved yourself in battle and your rep is high enough) then besiege the town/castle and capture it.

all prisoners will be freed and you can even recruit from the prisoners

Thing is. I can only speak to one of them through the bars since all the others are too far in.

And this guy I talk to do not follow me outside.
I kill all the guards. Do not get a message of X is down.
Then the exit screen comes and he was wounded.

don't try to break him out
attack the city/castle and when you win the battle, all the prisoners will be freed.

failing that, find a ransom broker in a tavern and see if you can buy them out

I talked to Ransom Broker in tavern but there where no dialogue to free any prisoners.
Where is it supposed to be?

there should be an option to ransom a friend

My bad. Downloaded latest patch and now there is an option to pay ransom.
Didn't try breakout since I'm using "realistic" setting.

I have the same issue with a different castle.

I would like to go in and juts edit the dungeon and remove the bars, but I don't know how.
