Companions armies sizes

I promoted 4 of my companions to the rank of lord and gave the fiefs. They were all leveled 25-29. The problem is that none of them is getting more than 60 troops. I left at all 4 like 4-5 skill points unused before promoting them cuz I thought they would put those points to leadership by themselves....apparently they didn't. Any chance to make them have more than 60 units because its very annoying to start a campaign and go siege a castle with 300 troops (including mines: I got 100 troops) against the enemies' 500-600.

Probably you can switch on "edit mode" and then level up your companions lords' leadership manually using character screen characters selection. Though, not sure about it.

60 sounds correct. Remember all the lords who had 60 units at the start of the game? It is based on their renown, so as they battle, they'll have more troops.

they dont gain renouwn they get a fixed 200 at the start i beleive?

It really is fixed? I thought that was just their starting renown. I haven't tested it much, but I know they start out like all other starting lords. I know normal lords in the game gain renown during the game and start to have larder armies.

i just checked and my companion lord is still at 200.

It's in configuration options - when you start launcher. Check the last tab - there'll be "Enable edit mode" box.

It's been 6 months since I promoted my companions and still they wont get above 60 men. Since then I already eliminated the nords and 6 of their castles were taken by my companions without me...renown should have increased but it hadn't.

you can give them troops but it becomes a pain as they will loose half of them just running into some bandits. I gave a companion 100 troops once, lasted a week.

some lords have the leadership ability all ready, But you can't raise it when there in your party, Just chose those  companions as lords and not the bandit/regular guys and you should be alright

the max they have is leadership level of 3. That adds 15 men extra if we presume lords skills work the same as ours. having said this lorsd with 500 renown appear to be able to support armys of 80 in my game. This is not the case for a human player.

You can add some of your own troops to your lords I think.

Isn't army size of lord based on fiefs he own in some way?

lords with town 60-100 lords with other fiefs 30-50

so if I give him let's say 2 villages he'll have 60-100 men?

giving a town to a companion still doesn't make them have armys larger then 60.

Indeed, but it does give them an army faster. Not bigger. You want bigger you need to increase leadership skill. The only problem is that can only be achieved by using edit mode. And when you start a new game you have to do it all over again. Any tools like troop editor for warband yet ???
