Do any of your companions start with Persuasion > 0?  I'd like to have them as my emissary to other kingdoms, but among my noble companion group (Lezalit, Rolf, etc.) no one has any skill.

Do any of the companions from group B have persuasion?

Correctly leveling your companion is part of the preparations of forming your own faction.

According to the wiki none have any persuasion at start.

No need to use nobles or males for emissary btw, I've had lots of success with Ymira with a persuasion of 5 or 6.

I use Ymira as well.  You get her at a low level, so she can be leveled any way you want.  She can become a good fighter, too, but she usually lags behind my point guys (Alayen & Firentis), so I make her a secondary fighter and emissary so I don't miss her from my party too much when she's gone.

I guess Marnid would work as well, since he's at a similarly low level when you get him.  I never use him, though, because he doesn't fit into my favorite companion configuration.

I guess my follow up question (because I'm so lazy) is which characters have high starting CHA?  I know Artimenner does (for trade).

Molding Ymira and Marnid sounds like a good idea too.

Here's a chart with all the companions and their skills, attributes, likes, dislikes, etc., spelled out.

Note that Persuasion is governed by Intelligence, not Charisma.  According to the chart, Jeremus and Rolf are tied for first place in Intelligence.  However, if you're going to make Jeremus your medic, you won't want to make him your emissary as well, since you need him to be in your party to gain the benefit of his medical skills.

Depending on how long you intend to remain independent and/or a vassal, you don't necessarily need a companion to be good at Persuade immediately, so it may not make that much of a difference what their starting INT stat is.

I had one of those brain fart moments and didn't give it a second thought.  It's helpful to me now.  Thanks.

I'm going with Jeremus as my emissary because he starts at a lower-ish level, he's not compatible with my core group of companions, and because he's funny looking.  Sounds like a good decision to me!

He wasn't the only one!  I never noticed that I was reposting the same link!
