Companion skill allocation

I've acquired few companions and I've set "Companion skill allocation" on manual, how do I actually allocate skills? Since currently I have 2 lvl 16 companions with only fighting skills (I don't know how to check they're skill focus).

Go to your character screen. There are arrows next to your name to scroll through companions.
