For some time I’ve wanted to interview the emblematic leader of the one of the oldest clans in the game. But let's not waste more time and start - Could you please tell us a bit about the way you approached the game back in the day, what made you want to involve yourself in the community, and stay for so long?

Hey everybody my name is Karl, most of you know me as Greedalicious, I`m 25 years old from Norway and I`m working on a degree in social studies. I`m also the clan leader and founder of Wolfpack.
I started out in the original Mount & Blade, playing with MuivirT, and when we found out that Warband was being made we quickly made our purchase. We basically started out playing the Full Invasion mod created by Arch3r, and because people wouldn’t stop abusing the game, with kick polls and the likes, I decided (after alot of drinking) to make a clan who would keep the peace, and taadaaa Wolfpack was formed. This was back in 2010 so I suppose I’ve been around for a long time now. Along the way we picked up some other players, most of which have stopped playing the game now with the exception of Azan, our designated engineer and barricade master. Our new group quickly cleared the content and were looking at Native for a new challenge. We had our first match ever a few weeks later against DoF and ended up narrowly winning 5-4 on Village thanks to the brilliant tactic of «shield up at the furnace and rush » Here’s a screenshot, somehow I still have it. http://imgur.com/WQ1mpL3
We ended up playing Korpi the following week and we lost 0-20, complaining about how they cheated for bumping us to the ground and shooting us. All part of the learning curve of Warband.
So far I`ve been involved in administrating several tournaments in various degrees, server hosting, server sponsoring, event hosting, a tiny bit of modding where I mostly think of weird stuff and have people much smarter than me work it out. I also play the game every now and then. I got involved in the community pretty early, by making the Wolfpack Den which became the number one TDM server in Europe and organizing events and building up a steam group that currently has around 460 members.

Being in charge of the Wolfpack Community for all those years must have been an amazing adventure, but also extremely time-consuming as anyone could imagine. What does it take to run such a structure and what has been your best and worst moments with them?

Building up a community like that took a lot of time and effort but in the end I think it was worth it. The main idea was to have a community where people would have fun while treating each other with respect and that worked out great with a few bumps along the way.
I can’t really think of a best moment, the time we spent in Full Invasion was incredibly fun, but it’s hard to compare anything to winning a match against a tough enemy. For the most part I enjoyed spending time with my guys on Teamspeak and just having fun.
The first bump was most of our core members of the competitive side left to form AE which left us in a pretty bad state for a while, but we shook it off and continued.
The second bump was the biggest and by far the most disappointing for me, where people I had known for several years and considered friends attacked me and people I care about without provocation. It ended up with the majority of my clan leaving to support behaviour that I could never support, which cut off any communication I previously had with them.

You have been helping the community many times by producing loads of ingame servers as well as some other stuff for major tournaments. Meanwhile, Wolfpack is also known to give lots of importance to the "casual" aspect of the game, with two famous public servers: Wolfpack_Siege and Wolfpack_Den. How difficult is it to keep these sorts of things together and what does it especially bring to your team?

Most of the work regarding our servers come from incredible people like Trivium, Muivirt, and in the past OliESC, Chatnoir, and definitely ShocK who developed the Wolfpack mod that all our server’s use. As an example, Trivium stopped playing this game years ago, but he always helps out whenever I ask, and it’s thanks to him the tournaments have been getting servers for so long. The Wolfpack Den was the first Native server I created back in 2011 and that server will always have be special place for me to unwind and relax, and I think most of the other members will agree. For the most part Wolfpack started out playing Siege, where I recruited my first Native member Rawnrawn (big thanks to Nireco from ZHG for allowing us to recruit back then) and later on we took over the 22nd_Siege server where OliESC and Chatnoir spearheaded the project and we made it the most successful siege server. My contribution to this is mostly figuring out features and the modders find out if it’s even possible.

There is no denying that there is a huge part of the Warband community who wants to see the game become highly competitive and many are hoping for Bannerlord to bring what's necessary for such a scene. What is your opinion about that? And how would Wolfpack as a whole would consider it?

I would love to see the game become a bigger competitive game, and I believe the community does as well. The community of Warband is what keeps the game alive, and it’s up to the developers to put in the extra effort for the game to become an e-sport. Although I don’t see that happening for a bucket full of reasons, I can guarantee we will do our best to try. When Bannerlord comes out, I`ll be the first to host a variety of servers for the game if we get the opportunity to do so.

Despite you being a quiet and modest person, I'm convinced you also have some hidden project for the current Warband community. Any chance we could get to know more about it?

I do definitely have some projects going on, most notably the 2v2 tournament we`ve been running for the last few weeks and the streaming I`ve been planning for...oh probably the last year. I`ve always wanted to stream but my internet had never been good enough to support it, with my new house that’s no longer a problem, and I have no excuse. This week It`ll be my first time doing a stream from the main seat so to say and I`m curious to see how it’s going to work out. I do have some special features I don’t see any other streams use, and I always try to find new ways to spice up the way things are already being done, so it`ll be worth taking a look at, if only to see me screw up. xD

If there is anything left you would like to share with us, this is your special moment!

My final words for this interview will be somewhat short.
I`ve met a lot of people in the time I`ve been playing Warband, some good, some bad. My reputation so to speak is pretty mixed depending on who you ask, but I stand behind my actions a hundred percent, and although I do have some regrets, I won’t apologise for what’s happened in the past.
I`d like to thank the people who`ve stood by me for years, almost literally through hell, most notably Muivirt, Trivium, Slow, Primigenia, Birger, Latinkon, sHocK, Fozzy, and Raven. You guys are what makes Wolfpack what it is, and without you Wolfpack and even Warband wouldn’t be a tenth as awesome as it is. There are others I`d like to thank too, but I know they wouldn’t like it, so I won’t. You know who you are.

Also thanks for the interview and giving me the chance to share my history in a game that I both curse at and hate, and love at the same time. Hope to see a lot more of these in the future. Great job man!

Nice one, althought greed forgot to mention me there!!! :fruity: :fruity:
Have you ever had any impact on the clans you've been in?

Thanks for the interview Tardet! I made you a better image for it however:

Naw man I just cant stand you, I think what you did was disgusting and two faced, considering the crap you`ve posted on twitter ect I see no reason not to bring this up. Wish you all the best though, maybe if you become happy you wont have to treat others like **** to feel good.

xD I'm glad, despite my inherent evilness, you can still wish me the best Jesulicious. You cut contact for my sins!

I'd like everyone to keep the banter to a minimal, the thread is here to allow people expressing their views in a simple way, not to make everyone insult eachothers. So no more comment about that, OGL and Greed, thank you.
