You know that's a bad thing right? They sort of represent the community in many respects. Certainly bannerlord videos get much more comments/views then this forum ever does.

Italian Spartacus (the main one I follow) even talks to the dev's personally; some of the changes in the latest patch are his suggestions.
They don´t represent me. And one of them even has the honor of a personal audience? Oh my god! Impressive.

If there was a place where TW could listen to a lot of their loyal fans instead of one famous streamer...hmmmm...never mind.

You have to understand that he represents a community of itself. Some of his videos have half a million views (so 10's to 100's of thousands of individual viewers). They comment and debate things within his channel; indeed the community there could be larger then the one here. Forums are far from the primary game platform these days.

And Spartacus is far from the biggest (just my favourite).

So his community has like a democratic voting system for stuff that should be added/fixed/whatever. And this one dude then tells the result of the votes in his personal dev audience to TW so they can work on it?

Can you please tell him he should tell TW to fix the broken siege AI? This would be awesome.

I don´t give a single **** about famous or non famous YouTubers/Streamers.

Pretty much.

Fair enough you don't care - I just feel disappointed that this forum is so disconnected. On total war (my other major forum) the streamers are active members - I even had a debate with Indypride on there recently.

Oh great so now all meaningful Dev communication takes place not on the forums of their longstanding loyal fanbase but on MySpace, Instagram and Onlyfans...sign of the times i guess

I mean. Yes - it is. CA don't even respond on their forum anymore - their primary platform is reddit.

Paradox are mostly reddit; but basically drop a few responses after each update on their forum - then they go radio silent.

Icefrog don't even respond. Full stop.

Taleworlds are actually weirdly backwards that they respond on here at all. Honestly it is the only reason I keep this forum page.

Reddit is some kind of forum and not a Streaming/Video platform....

Nobody here complains that TW responds on reddit (of course they don´t) but not in this forum. We complain that they don´t respond/interact anywhere at all, if you´re not a famous Streamer/Youtuber as it seems.

Some dev´s do it of course (Duh/Mexxico as examples) maybe they don´t know that Twitch/Youtube exist, or they care about the community? Who knows....

And:

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We intend to use a range of different methods to gather player feedback and data throughout the early access period. These include engaging with users directly on our official forum and our Steam forum, requesting specific feedback through questionnaires, hosting and participating in multiplayer events alongside our community, and using analytics tools to gather data.”
Hmm, no word about famous Streamers/Youtubers. Sorry that I expected that they deliver what they have said....

and my point is this isn't just normal - it is basic industry practice nowadays. The fact Duh etc post here is actually a nice change from what you can typically expect on a forum.

Also this forum is a very small part of the M&B community... a very vocal (and knowledgeable) part; but very small.

I edited my post so you may have missed it:

There are also dozens of other studios who interact with their community on their forum / Steam forum / Reddit.

Just stop trying to make famous Streamers/YouTubers as a head of a community...

Sure. But it is as it is.

The person who represents 10,000's of players/potential players is obviously going to pull weight; especially compared to a forum of... what 100's... maybe? More like dozens. They are head of their own community (not ours) but it is sad (to me) that we are so disconnected. That is all.

Well the more I discuss with you and the more I can feel the passion.
I don't have any tags in my signature but I have spent a lot of time on warband as well.
Unfortunately for some of the strong fan base, the hype is so intense that whatever TW will do, final version of the game will never meet their expectations.

So maybe this kind of mindset is one of the reason the "community" doesn't receive the expected feedback.
Negativity, agressivity and pressure do not look like a good basis for a constructive communication.

We were being positive for years in this forum before the release of Bannerlord, coming up with all sorts of cool suggestions. But guess what, TW was as silent as ever through all those years only making extremely vague replies. Well that is besides their devblogs showing features which it now seems 75% of aren't even going to ever be implemented.

This is really at the crux of the matter for me as well. According to those dev blogs it really felt like they had a vision of the game that was at least partially in line with what many, many of the long time fans were asking/hoping for. That, at the time was enough for me. It didnt need to be perfect, it could have bugs and even some things that just simply couldnt make it in the final product -but what we've received...i just cant literally find a reason to fire up this game knowing that the player character is utterly untied to this world and the world is untied to anything compelling whatsoever. Im really curious people that like/love the game -what do they find compelling about it?

Yes completely agree, I can live with bugs and unfinished content knowing that it'll eventually be fixed and finished. It's the lack of ambition from TW's side dissapointing me... They should've wanted to take things to the next level, not cut corners at every given opportunity.

The expectation that maybe we get some stuff we had in Warband 10 years ago? :p
Like Deserters or Books to improve the very grindy skill system? Try leveling up Roguery, it's not fun at all.

Hilarious thread. Just commenting so that I can laugh hard with new comments from people that are trying to defend a company that doesn't give a damn about its community.
I even see that being able to talk to dev's personally makes you community representative
