commoner revolution

im curious. has any of you tried to do a commoner revolution. in other words, using all your non-noble companions as lords and keeping your noble companions with you instead? i ask because it sounds like a fun way to try playing, and i might wanna try it soon. if anyone has tried it, i would like some insights on what its like. =)

also, im wondering:
1) does rolf get angry if you use commoners as lords? he is a fake noble after all.
2) would there be nobles who are okay with it and willing to join you and not take a relationship hit whenever you assign a fief to a commoner?

But wouldn't the commoners then stop being commoners after they became lords?

Yeah, you'd think so. I guess after a few generations of being Lord Suchandsuch they just forget that they originally grubbed around in the trenches like the rest of us. To be honest this is/was probably pretty accurate.

I did get a big chuckle in my game when Lord Lezalit got upset about granting Nizar a fief because I was giving land to a commoner... I was like 'dude, I hired you out of a bar and you cost me less money than I spent that day on bread and cheese'.

So to answer the OP - do Artimenner, Firentis, Borcha, or Ymira consider themselves noble? I don't have Rolf to check specifically but if any of those count then party fake-nobles don't get upset about granting lands. I've also never, ever seen a real lord be OK with commoners holding land. I always take a hit the first time speaking to them after giving Nizar a fief, no matter how friendly they started (I had 100 relation with Lezalit when he complained).

As an aside, Nizar has spent almost the entire game since then losing fights and then sitting in somebody's dungeon (I spring him as soon as I can find him so he can do it again immediately). Maybe there's something to that nobility stuff...

There was some one on the board a bit back that said they tried the Steppe Bandit King scenerio.  They said it didn't go well.  Might try to find that.

I'm just starting in warband but that sounds pretty fun which companions count as commoners??

hmmm??? i dont see why the 2 cases would be similar. im not talking about using peasants as soldiers, im talking about using the 11 non-noble companions as lords. oh, and i couldnt find the post your referring to unfortunately. if you could provide a link itll be great =)

@ zollum: Firentis, Alayen, Bahestar, Rolf, Matheld, Lezalit are nobles, the other 11 are not

By speaking of Commoner, someone once said there is a commoner faction that sometime pop up in the game (maybe a bug) anyone know more?

That's what he did.  I think he was RP'ing a Steppe Bandit that got a Horde together, swept the Khergits aside and made his own domain thing.  He was explaining how he chose all commoners as companions and then gave them fiefs.  I guess the rest of the Calradia didn't really approve this, or some thing along these lines.  I think the OP was asking about if there were any difficulties making people not born as part of the nobility.

TBH I think the problem more due to him being Khergit troops than anything else as these are the weakest soldiers in the game and Khergit neighbours have some of the strongest troop types.
