Combining a Map with Native/Mods

Hi All

Im just after a check list of what I need to be doing/researching...

I want to put a map of England which has been edited with locations etc... Into either Native or another Mod.

Eventually having new factions with controll over certain locations at game start...

What do I need to do in order for this to happen?

assuming you change only map (and names of locations) and you do not know what module system is or do not have the source code for the mod:
1. you need to edit parties.txt to have new names and locations coords fitting map (preserving initial faction ownership)
1.1 (optional) rename factions and troops in any of the troop editors available. Morgh tools are suitable for both 1 & 1.1
2. replace map.txt with yours
3. ...
4. profit

Looking through Parties txt using morgh tools... On each town it says factio = neutral? How is this correct? Shouldnt it be what ever faction owns it at the game start? If not where do I change what factions own what at game start?

Factions owning centers are defined in "game_start" script in module_scripts
 
Alright cheers... Ill have a look at that...

So if my parties.txt matches my map.txt, and my starting locations match with game_start. This should work?

For factions, do I just make new ones in parties.txt and factions.txt?

Also how to rename Lords and their factions? And can you make new Lords?

if you want to make new factions you should use the module system but if you want to change them you could use only the txt files
same thing for the towns because there are many referrences to the towns in menus.txt and scripts.txt
