I Know some people are getting tired and frustrated with the fighting.

the same old block, attack,block, attack,block, attack,block, attack,block, attack,block, attack,block, attack,block, attack,block, attack,block, attack,block, attack,block, attack,block, attack,block, attack,block, attack,

and so forth. so my idea is to have a you control were you sword goes you hold down the attack button, and move the sword to the left he swings to the left, you hold the attack button and raise it up your character raises his sword up, you yank it back down the sword swings down. How hard you yank it is how much damage will be done
i beleive this should be an option in the game to turn on or off

This is totally hypothetical and was jsut an idea and i hope you understood what i was trying to explain  (its like free roaming mouse basically)

The rest I would like to try and see but:
How hard you yank it is how much damage will be done
If swinging really hard only results in higher damage (instead of higher damage and longer recovery time) I am against this. I don't want to break my mouse when trying to get more damage .

The idea is interesting but man, I can see myself winding up with a broken mouse given all the mad fighting I get into. Really, I've got a great mouse I can see myself shaking it to pieces. Interesting to think about though, but not something I'd want.

Well yea but like i said it was totally hypothetical and sumthing i thought would be interesting to think about

Reminds me a little of the system used in Die by the Sword.

Ahhh... That was a fun game.
"You hit like a Kobold!!!" Running around armless or legless was a sight to behold.

The swing system you are talking about kinda reminds me of Metal Gear Solid 2. Don't know if anyone else played it but, yeah, you moved the joystick up you swung up, down you slashed down, etc etc. I liked it but the current system of attacking works fine for me. Walking backwards starts the stabby motion, strafing right swings it right, etc etc.

Call me crazy but, how the hell do you run around legless? I guess it would be a sight to behold. I never played the game so I don't really know how anything works.

Well basically you could chop off arms and legs at will. However is a monster had its leg cut off, it would act as if it still had it, i.e. it would stand and run around as if it had an invisible phantom leg.

Well, considering im play leaning back in my chair, mouse in my lap. I would probly hit myslef in the nad REPEATEDLY.

I dunno about you guys but i dont wanna be going to my bedroom to put a cup on for GAMING.

No thanks

I think this is an awesome idea!!! Having so much more control over the sword fights which as present as a bit of a button-bash thing...with the odd blockage...

Although...would it really be a problem to have an option to turn mouse controlled sword fighting off? To revert to the present method?

I def think this is worth checking out tho!

what a kewl idea ^ ^

although i would likely break my wrist from all the up's and down's going on there.

It might work if there is "a power cap" (so you don't have to break your mouse) and there was a draw back for a powerful swing (like your sword hitting the ground or going too far and thus it would take time for you to ready your weapon for another strike).

speed cap, from the initial strike to the time the sword goes up again, so he is weighed down from smashing the sword down, so the lift is slowed.

yea the power cap would work really well, and the more strength you have the less time for recovery, and lifting the sword back up

yes that would be a well good addition to the game.

unfortunately, my friend wont play it, because he loves warcraft too much, i want it to become a MMO so then we can all play happily.
