Combat tactic that no longer works in 6.3x

In 6.2x I used to break a footman's stance by grazing them with my horse. This would make them drop their stance and then I could hit them as I galloped past. Very useful tactic against anyone, but especially shields. Now they get knocked down and I can't seem to hit them. Anyone get this to work in 6.3x?

I miss the tactic, but I'm not sure if it should be there or not. Anyone else use this?

Yes, it still works great. But you have to be traveling by then at a decent speed for it to work now. You have to just clip them, and then when you swing you'll hit them before they can completely fall. Its a nice little nerf for cavalry, but more are needed.

Also, try swinging right at the side of your horse (basically look down as you ride past)... that way you'll hit them even if they are already falling...

Actually, if the timing is right (or you are lucky), you can hit time when they get knocked down or trying to get up. It happened more than a dozen of time these 2 days.

I'm a horse archer, so I knock them down and pump an arrow into them as they get up. I love to do that. Is that cheap?

My strategy for beating river pirates is to get a horse good archery and ride arkound them in a circle filling them full of arrows... DAMN!! It's fun!!

My new strategy is to kill a horse rider or two and then charge into the crowd of foot soldiers with arrows pumping. I try to knock down as many of them as I can, and it usually works well. My Men At Arms of Knights sweep in after me and kill the fallen enemies.
